Chapter 7

It turns out his ex-wife is really that beautiful.

Especially the eyes, like containing stars, transparent and steadfast, but also hiding a bit of stubbornness.

Derek suddenly looked dumbfounded.

These eyes gave him the illusion of knowing each other.

While Derek was stunned, Bertha suddenly laughed, her eyes filled with coldness and contempt. “It's so embarrassing, you're not qualified to dance with me.” Then, she elegantly adjusted her outfit.

Other people passing by, hearing Bertha's words, whispered to each other.

"This girl is too arrogant. She dares to tell City X's number one CEO Derek that he is not qualified?"

Derek's face quickly turned dark, the familiar feeling from before was completely thrown to hell by Bertha's words.

If he hadn't seen it with his own eyes, he wouldn't have believed that Bertha would turn out like this.

His hand still outstretched, he replied. “It's just a dance, aren't you scared?”

Bertha's gaze also became cold. Why is this man so vile? He didn't understand what she said.

Bertha looked at Derek coldly and said nothing more.

Their eyes looked at each other, silently emitting the smell of gunpowder.

Seeing the atmosphere getting hotter, Venn smiled and stood up.

“Bertha is my female companion, why do you have to take my person.”

Venn pushed Derek's hand away, his eyes glanced at Laura standing next to him. “You should ask your girlfriend to dance, don't make her jealous.”

Derek still stood there, not moving.

Bertha was a bit upset, she said something to Venn and then left the main banquet room, she went to the restaurant's flower garden to relax.

Derek wanted to follow, but Venn pulled his hand back to greet the other Presidents, making it impossible for him to leave.

Although Laura and Rose at the next table couldn't hear what they were saying, the two girls saw Derek and Bertha looking at each other affectionately.

Rose was angry, looking at Bertha's back. “This bitch. She's divorced and still clinging to my brother."

Laura was so angry that her face turned red. “Maybe Bertha… likes Derek. If he also has feelings for her, I will withdraw."

Having finished speaking, she sobbed.

Rose suddenly became panicked.

“No way, Laura. Why do you want to withdraw? I just accept you as my sister-in-law. That vile woman, I hate her to death. As long as I'm here, she'll never enter Tibble's door."

Not only did Laura not stop crying, but she also became even more angry, her pitiful appearance looked extremely helpless.

“Rose, but I… what else can I do…”

Rose glanced at Laura, then looked back at Bertha as she left. She thought for a moment, then suddenly she had a thought.

“Sister Laura, you just leave this matter for me to handle, I will make that bitch no longer qualified to compete with you.”

“Rose, what are you going to do?”

Rose came close to Laura's ear and said a few words.

Laura's eyes were simple. “Is that… okay?”

“You just wait to see good drama.”

Having finished speaking, Rose's face showed an evil smile, she stood up and walked towards the flower garden.

After she left, Laura regained the resentment on her face, her eyes flashing with a smug look.

Rose is an idiot but it works for her. Laura just said a few words, Rose fell into her trap.

'I hope she doesn't disappoint me.' Laura thought to herself.

In the garden.

Bertha crossed her arms and stood next to the fountain breathing in the fresh air.

If she didn't go outside to breathe, she would be stunned by the bustling atmosphere in the banquet room. Because she just likes quiet space.

“Bertha!”

Behind her suddenly came a sharp voice.

She turned her head and saw Rose strutting towards her.

"Haven't you been beaten enough? Or do you want me to beat you again?" She said coldly.

Rose went crazy, wanting to pull Bertha's hair, but thinking of her plan, she had to clench her palms, trying to control her anger.

She took out a bank card from LV bag, brought it in front of Bertha, and said in an alms tone.

"There are thirty thousand dollars in here. As long as you agree to never appear in front of my brother again, and from now on leave X city and never return, this amount is yours."

Bertha frowned, looking at the bank card in her hand with a strange expression.

With only 30 thousand dollars, you can't even buy a pair of Bertha, but you want to force her to leave City X?

Rose looked at Bertha's expression, she thought that Bertha had wavered, so she was even more pleased.

"What's wrong? You've seen so much money before, right? But this money to me is just pocket money for a week, I think you'll need it."

"I remember that you used to borrow money from my mother. Unfortunately, my mother didn't let you borrow money, but now it's good. With this money, you can buy anything you want."

"What's up? You like it, right?"

Rose's eyes flashed with excitement, she kept whispering in her heart. 'Quickly receive the money. Come here and get the money.'

Her face clearly showed confidence. Previously, when at Tibble's family, Mrs. Victoria cut off all of Bertha's allowance. Over the past few years, Bertha has been in Tibble's family, and she hasn't been able to buy even a decent set of designer clothes.

So Rose was sure that as poor as Bertha was, she definitely wouldn't be able to refuse her.

As long as Bertha receives her money before the party ends, she will say that her money was stolen and blame Bertha, then she will call the police to arrest Bertha.

Once Bertha is taken to prison, Rose bribes the guards in prison, beats Bertha, and leaves her with a reputation as a thief, so that for the rest of her life, Bertha will never be able to recover.

Thinking of this plan, the excitement in Rose's eyes was almost no longer able to be hidden.

"Take the money, what happened just now, I didn't mean it. I'm sorry, but this time I'll be honest, if you're so short on money, just take it."

Bertha tilted her head to assess Rose, taking all of her expression into her eyes, shaking her head sarcastically.

Then she immediately opened her phone and sent a text message to Alex, Venn's special assistant.

The black card is in my bag in the car, please help me go to the bank to withdraw one million dollars and bring it here, I'm in the flower garden, act quickly.

Almost two seconds later, the other person immediately responded.

I know. I'll be there in two minutes.
