Chapter 57

"Miss Alex?" her eyes widened upon seeing the alpha she hates as much as she hates the older Carter.

"Oh look at that! Why the hell are you so slow to open the door? Where's Cyrus and the girl?"

Alex shovs the older woman to the side as sje invites herself inside.

He sniffs the air to confirm that the father and daughter have been there but their faint scent also tells him that they're not in the house anymore so her head snaps back at the nanny's direction.

"Where the hell are they?!" She asked, not even trying to be nice anymore when he learns that the pure blood isn't home.

"I'm sorry Miss Alex but---" her words are cut off when Alex harshly grips her neck.

"Do you really think I'll be up here at this hour just to listen to your bullshits?! Where the hell is Cyrus and Kiana?!" the alpha's voice is laced with venom and Felicia knows that Alex wouldn't think twice to hurt her if she doesn’t get what she wants.

She closes her eyes and silently asks forgiveness from Cyrus before she speaks.

"J-young master  went to meet with Miss Aria." Felicia uttered hoping that Alex will finally leave her alone but the jealous alpha just slammed her on the sofa.

"And where did they go? What about Kiana? Did they also take her with them? Are you telling me that they're having a little family reunion right now? Even after I ruined everything for them?"

Alex’s voice is tinged with the bitterness she has been hiding for the past three years.

"Y-yes...Yes Miss Alex. Young master Cyrus took Kiana to Miss Aria." She lies in order to deceive the alpha who looks so scary with his eyes glaring at her.

"Do you really think Cyrus will still choose to be with that slutty omega?! You're wrong! Aria is already sleeping with Knight as we speak.

I'm sure Cyrus and that little brat would come back crying when they learn that Aria is already whoring herself to that other pure blood alpha!" Alex laughs when she remembers the deal she made with Knight .

She is fully convinced that the pure blood will betray Aria because she believes all wolves are as pathetic as she is.

The evil alpha even settled on the couch opposite where Felicia is sitting.

The old omega starts to panic when she realizes that Alex would really stay here and wait for Kiana and Cyrus.

She knows she needs to do something because if Alex decides to stay a little longer, the alpha might discover her little secret and that would put Kiana and her own life in danger.

She swallows the lump forming in her throat before she bravely looks at the alpha's glaring eyes again.

"-M-Miss Alex... the thing is, the father and daughter might not come back anytime soon." she said, hoping that she would convince the alpha with her acting.

"Huh? What do you mean?"

"T-The young master told me that if he won't work it out with Miss Aria tonight... he might go someplace else  because he wants to spend more time with Kiana alone. Y-you could call Mr. Ross if you want to confirm." Felicia says knowing that Dylan would surely be alarmed once he learns that Alex is searching for Cyrus.

Alex tilted her head as if studying the older omega's face to see  if she's telling the truth.

Good thing that desperation and the danger looming around her makes Felicia the best actress.

"Why the fuck are you telling me this just now?! You're a worthless piece of shit!" Alex yells at the older woman before grabbing her jacket again when she realizes that there's really a big possibility that Cyrus and Kiana would be in Aria’s hometown because she was so sure that Knight honored his part of their deal.

 "I-I'm sorry Miss Alex. I---"

"Shut up! Just shut up!" Alex yells at her one more time before she starts to walk towards the door.

Felicia is holding her breath, hoping that Kiana would not make a sound until Alex is gone but then again, she seems to be running out of luck because just when the alpha reached the door, they heard something from the second floor.

The older omega's eyes widened as Alex slowly turns around.

"What is---"

Healing My Seven Broken Beast Mates Novel Cover
9.4
My retirement was finally approved, and I was supposed to be sipping drinks on a sunny beach. Instead, a cold system voice forced me into a nightmare scenario: "Cursed Mates Who Want Me Dead." I woke up in a stinking cave, trapped in the body of a psychopathic tribal princess. The memories that flooded my brain made me sick. The original owner of this body had forcibly marked seven of the continent's most powerful beast-men and reduced them to tortured pets. She had ripped the shimmering scales off Jordi the Merfolk prince, gouged out a proud wolf-man's power crystal, and snapped an eagle-man's magnificent wings. Now, Jordi was a mutilated, terrified mess hiding in a corner. He was so traumatized that he tried to slit his own throat just to escape me. His sister was actively trying to assassinate me. To make matters worse, the system warned me that if I didn't heal these seven ticking time bombs, my soul would be erased. Yet the future timeline clearly showed that these men would eventually unite, burn my tribe to the ground, and dismember me alive. I was paying for a monster's sins. Every time I tried to show mercy, they thought it was a sick new torture method. Words were useless, and my very presence was a trigger. But I am a Tier-S operative, and I don't play the victim. I forced the system to unlock my powers and strapped on my tactical gear. "Stay here and don't starve." I left the trembling Merfolk behind and walked into the deadly primitive forest, heading straight for the powerful Oasis Tribe to take back his stolen scales by force.

Ninety-Nine Times, Then No More Novel Cover
7.3
This was the ninety-ninth time I caught my husband, Chase Vargas, with another woman in our five-year marriage. I stood in the hotel doorway, numb, tired of the cheap perfume and his cold, familiar eyes. But this time, his mistress, a blonde woman, hissed, "He told me all about you. The pathetic wife he's stuck with because of some business deal. He said he can't stand the sight of you." Her words, meant to hurt, were things I already knew, things Chase had made sure I understood. Still, hearing them from a stranger felt like a new humiliation. She lunged, scratching my face, drawing blood. The sting was a surprising jolt in my numb world. I wrote her a check, a routine part of this pathetic scene. Then my phone rang. It was Chase, calling from across the room. "What are you doing? Are you making a scene? Clean it up and get out. You're embarrassing." He thought I had orchestrated this, that I was the embarrassing one. The betrayal was casual, complete. "I'm tired, Chase," I said, the words finally coming from a place I thought had died. "I want a divorce." He laughed, a cruel sound. "A divorce? Elena, don't be ridiculous. You love me too much to ever leave me." I hung up. He then handed me a signed divorce agreement, telling me his true love, June, my adopted sister, was back. He wanted me to play the dutiful wife for her welcome-home concert. My heart, which I thought had turned to stone, felt a final, crushing blow. He wasn't divorcing me because I wanted it. He was divorcing me for her. I signed the papers. The ninety-ninth time was the last time he would do this to me.
