Chapter 2

Two years ago, Raiden Morrison and I were the epitome of a perfect couple in the Silver Moon Pack.

We were deeply in love, and I was carrying his child.

We were eagerly anticipating the arrival of our baby when Raiden’s mother, Meredith Clark, fell seriously ill.

At the time, Raiden was overwhelmed with his responsibilities as Alpha, so I volunteered to return to our hometown to care for his mother.

It was during my time there that I discovered Giovanna Kelley had been tampering with Meredith’s medication.

This was the reason her condition never improved.

I confronted Giovanna with the evidence, but she shrugged it off, saying,

“What else could I do? Raiden is always so busy in the city. This was the only way I could get him to come back and see me.”

Giovanna had always harbored feelings for Raiden, but he had never reciprocated.

Enraged, I demanded she stay away from Meredith.

But to my horror, she had bribed the pack’s healer to switch Meredith’s medication.

As Meredith’s condition worsened, Raiden was forced to leave his duties and return home.

I was about to tell Raiden the truth about Giovanna’s actions when she spun a web of lies.

“Alpha,” she said, her voice dripping with false concern, “I overheard Michaela arguing with your mother. She said Meredith was a burden, that she wished she were gone so she wouldn’t have to care for her anymore.”

Raiden was skeptical at first, but when the healer backed up Giovanna’s claims, his trust in me began to erode.

I tried desperately to explain, to salvage what was left of our bond, but the evidence was stacked against me.

Though he never explicitly accused me, I could feel the distance growing between us.

Our five-year relationship shattered the day Giovanna pushed me into the river during a pack gathering.

My cries for help brought Raiden running, and he dove in to save me.

But it was too late—our child was gone.

Before I could even grieve, Giovanna presented a falsified medical report.

“Alpha,” she cried, “she lied to you! She was never pregnant! She faked it just to manipulate you!”

Raiden’s face darkened as he stared at the report.

All the frustration and anger he had been holding back erupted.

“Michaela,” he growled, his Alpha tone cutting through me like a knife, “how many times? How many lies? I’ve reached my limit with you!”

Before I could respond, a commotion broke out in the packhouse.

Meredith had ingested a tonic that reacted lethally with her medication. She didn’t survive.

And that tonic—it was the one I had brought that afternoon, hoping to mend things between Raiden and me.

After that, the pack turned against me.

Whispers of my guilt spread like wildfire, and no one stood up for me.

Giovanna took full advantage of the chaos, ingratiating herself with Raiden.

At Meredith’s funeral, Giovanna made sure to humiliate me.

When I tried to defend myself after she shoved me, Raiden silenced me with a cold glare.

“Enough,” he said, his voice laced with Alpha authority.

He exiled me to the rogue lands, stripping me of my rank as Luna and casting me out of the pack.

For two years, I endured the harsh life of a rogue, clinging to the hope that Raiden would uncover the truth and take me back.

But now, as I stand here, I realize the truth:

What we had is gone, and it has been for a long time.

1. **"Tonic"** -> Replace with "herbal remedy" to better fit the modern werewolf context.

2. **"Pack gathering"** -> Replace with "pack run" to align with werewolf social events.

3. **"Medical report"** -> Replace with "healer's assessment" to reflect the role of the pack healer.

4. **"River"** -> Replace with "forest stream" to emphasize the natural setting of the werewolf world.

5. **"Hometown"** -> Replace with "pack territory" to better fit the werewolf pack structure.
