Chapter 7

Madison POV

I'm seated in my office with a cup of coffee beside me, Krystal had gotten one for me.

I really should see Doctor Melvin, he was the one who separated Zach's stupid fight with Greg. I should thank him right?.

I stared at the screen of my laptop blanky and heaved a sigh.

I took another sip of my coffee before I pulled my chair back to get up until my door went open revealing doctor Melvin Standing in his white coat and a stethoscope around his neck.

“Uhm, Doctor Melvin…” I said as i got up immediately from my seat and folded my hands in my front.

“Madison, are you okay?" He asked

“Yes, yes I am..I was just thinking of you” I replied and he gave a side smile.

" I'm here now, you're sure you're good? How's your nose dearie?“ He replied

" Please come in” I chuckled seeing he was still standing by the door.

He took his steps in and stood before my table "Yes, my nose, I'm fine and not bleeding again doctor" I replied.

He gave a side smile and then walked more closer to me, "You…you and Zach, you know him?" He asked me in this soft and yet cold voice.

I folded my lips in and chuckled lowly..a fake one though

“Uhm, yeah….I do” I replied and threw my gaze to the ground.

“Oh, I'm still surprised. Zach Westley..I wonder how you met him so could you please tell me?“

Hell no!

Never!..

I can't tell my boss I met him at a bar he owns and slept with him and now, Zach's claiming I am his.

“He punched our patients brother, because he was talking to you…do you two have something together?“ He asked me snapping me out of my thoughts.

" Huh? Zach? Oh no..not at all doctor” I chuckled

" And yeah, I got a notification earlier that I would be attending to this 6 years old child tomorrow” I said obviously trying to change the topic.

I went to get the report sheet of the child and held it in my hands, faking a smile at doctor Melvin.

I really don't want him to be bothered about me.

He always is…

“Oh, yeah I want to tell you that too" he replied

“He'll be coming for dressing, he has a cut on his head..so you'll be the one to handle it" he smiles

“Okay, no problem Doctor" I replied

“Madison, you've been busy lately, I'll arrange a shift for you. Don't get too worked up hmm?" He smiled and then stepped back…great, he's probably preparing to leave.

"Yes doctor, thank you so much” I replied sincerely.

“So, I'll leave you to get back to work” he replied before he made his way out of my office.

I released a heavy sigh and fell back on my swivel chair as I let my head fall back.

Zach Westley

We arrived home already. I walked into the mansion still having the thought of what Greg had said.

The way he called Madison's name made me want to kill him right off but I'm not done with him yet so I won't take his life.

I walked to the couch and threw myself tiredly onto it. Zach walked to me with a glass of what I don't know but it had ice cubes in it. I gladly accepted the glass from him and knew immediately it was whiskey.

“Thanks bro” I smiled and took a sip in immediately.

“So what are you going to do with her?” Liam asked me, I turned my gaze to him with a questioning look on.

Referring to Madison or who?

“who do you mean Liam?“ Adrian asked him.

“The lady boss is talking about, that petite doctor” he replied with a scoff.

Is he also trying to get on my nerves.

I dropped the glass down to the side glass table beside me before I stood up and walked to Liam seating on the couch.

I grabbed him by his collar and pushed his back against the seat gripping his collar tightly.

“Now, you listen to me” I growled.

His eyes are wide open, is he thinking I'll allow him speak in such way about Madison and let him go like he said nothing stupid.

I didn't spare Greg, neither would I spare anyone else.

“Boss, I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to anger you” he began pleading.

" It's not about angering me, it's about the trash you just said. Madison deserves respect like I do! So don't ever speak of her in such manner, if you cross her then you cross me and I won't spare you..not even if you're my brother” I replied and Zane coughed immediately.

Yes I understand what he's trying to say.

“Yes Zane, including you, never pass your boundaries" I replied before I let go of Liam.

“Damn, you're so into this woman” Adrian smiled at me.

"And I am so happy, my brother is finally into a responsible woman” Zane laughed

“I was never into any other, responsible or not” I muttered as I rolled my eyes and walked back to the couch.

" Then what about that lady? The one you sleep with all the time?“ He chuckled and I groaned.

" That's why I'd keep calling you lil kid, you don't know anything Zane” I laughed and so did Adrian. Zane immediately had this long face

" I hate when you guys sound this way” he pouts and walked away to get a drink.

“You don't know who Melissa is to your bro right?” Adrian laughed at him.

" Just forget, y'all forget it. I don't care, I'd love to get to know Madison the more though” Zane winked at me.

The smile on my face vanished immediately and before I could get up to get him, he took his heels.

“Get back here!”

But he was already gone..

Yeah you had better run, if I get hold of you, you would not like yourself chicken

It wasn't a gun, but the pen in my hand was going to end my life just the same. Liam, the man I was supposed to marry in a month, pointed to the tablet on his desk. It showed a live feed of my mother’s hospital room. "Sign the confession, Ava," he said, his voice devoid of any warmth. "Take the fall for the embezzlement. I woke up from surgery with a jagged scar on my side and a missing kidney. My fiancé, Dante Moretti, the Capo of the Chicago Outfit, hadn't saved me from an illness. He had harvested me like spare parts to save his mistress, Sofia. "She pays the tithe," he had told the surgeon coldly while I was paralyzed by anesthesia. For ten years, I was his loyal shadow. I managed his legitimate empire, took bullets for him, and even aborted our child three years ago because Sofia threw a tantrum about bloodlines. I thought my absolute loyalty would eventually earn his love. But when the Cartel held us both over the edge of a bridge days later, Dante didn't choose me. He tackled Sofia to safety and watched as I fell backward into the freezing black river. He thought I drowned. Or worse, he assumed I was a dog that would eventually swim back to its master, no matter how hard he kicked it. He was wrong. I dragged myself out of that water, but the woman who loved him died in the depths. Seven days later, I didn't return to the Moretti penthouse. I walked straight into the headquarters of his mortal enemy, Enzo Falcone. "Do you still want to marry me?" I asked the man who wanted Dante’s head on a spike. Enzo didn't hesitate. "I will burn the city down before I let him touch you again." Now, Dante is crawling at my gates, paralyzed and ruined, holding a medical box containing my stolen kidney. But he forgot one thing: I don't want it back.
