Chapter 4

Cynthia POV

Sitting in the throne room, warriors just kept flooding in with numerous unfamiliar suitcases.

My gaze glued to each suitcase that came into the house.

What was all this for? I thought to myself.

It looked like someone was moving in. These weren't new luggages. They clearly belonged to someone.

"Jane," I called one of the maid who had a jewelry box in her hand

She paused then walked to me, bowing her head in respect "what's that?" I asked, my gaze fixed on the box in her hand.

"It's a jewelry box your majesty,"

"Of course I know it's a jewelry box but who does it belong to?" I asked and she averted her gaze, her fingers fidgeting under the box

"Jane," I heard Jackson's sharp yet cold voice echoing in the room. "Hey back to work" he added and Jane scored away like a sacred little kitten.

Everyone Ignore and focused on their duties like I wasn't there. More suitcase kept coming in and I couldn't help but frown

I turned sharply to Jackson, whose expression was unreadable. His brown eyes, devoid of any emotion stared back at me.

"What's going on?" I asked innocently, fixing my gaze on his face while awaiting his reply. "Whose belongings are these?"

He was just about to answer when we heard a sharp giggling behind us and just before I turned, someone ran past me and went straight to Daniel, running into his arms.

"I missed you," the strange woman said, her arms tightly wrapped around his neck as Daniels hand was tightly wrapped around her waist

What the f*ck?

My heart sank and I could barely stand still while looking at them both.

I rushed to Jackson and yanked the strange woman's hand off Jackson's neck, pushing her off him completely

When our gaze finally met, I was stunned to see Luna Daisy standing right in front of me

"Daisy?" I asked, disbelief and shock dancing in my eyes.

"That's supreme Luna to you," she responded shamelessly and confidently, a triumphant smile playing on her lips

"Sorry....what?" I asked, glancing at her in shock even more.

The atmosphere was suddenly uncomfortable, that even the maids and warriors who brought more belongings into the palace were stealing glances at us

"She is now the supreme Luna. I'm married to her now and she's my mate and wife," Jackson explained and I looked at him in utter confusion.

His wife? His Luna? His mate?

What the hell was Jackson talking about?

"I clearly don't understand any of this. Your mate? What do you mean she's the supreme Luna now? Then what am I?" I asked, my hand shaking slightly as I looked at Jackson who didn't even seem a little bothered about the pit of confusion he threw me into.

"I'm going to explain this once so I expect you to listen," he said then countined "Daisy here would be living with me for six months while you would be living with her husband, Alpha Benson as his wife for six months too"

Jackson was blabbering right? This was a prank right? He couldn't be serious about this right?

My legs were shaking slightly, the weight of this sudden unexpected news almost bringing my entire body to the ground

No I have to be strong and understand what's going on first.

Maybe I'm just thinking about this the wrong way.

"Wait....are you saying that my position was your wife has been switched with her position as a mere Luna?" I asked, my heart racing as I feared his response.

"Yes," he responded curtly.

"What! Are you crazy? Do I look like a property you can exchange? What has gotten into you Jackson?" I asked, stammering on my words as a part of me began praying fervently that this was just one of those bad dreams I used to have.

"You would obey me and not ask me stupid questions. You're leaving to red moon pack today and that's final." His sharp tone echoed in the corners of the room that chills ran down my spine.

"Greg please empty the supreme Luna's room and instruct the maids to start packing her belongings"

Tears gathered in my eyes as I suddenly felt dumbfounded.

Was I really leaving?

"Jackson....did I do anything wrong?" I asked, my voice trembling as I approached him.

"Don't ask me any questions Cynthia. Daisy is what I want and I need you to accept it. It's just six months," he said and a heart wretching pain engulfed me

"How can you casually say that to me," I asked, a tear running down my left cheek and I didn't even have the strength to stop it. "I'm your mate for f*ck sake,"

"Well not anymore,"he uttered coldly, and I felt my heart stop.

Finally, my legs gave in and I fell to the ground.

TWO WEEKS LATER

"Alpha we need enough weapons. We can't continue risking the lives of our pack warriors,"

"Sh*t," Benson cursed beside me.

Jackson still haven't sent the weapons he promised Benson even after the wife exchange and right now, was were having some rogues in the pack but not enough weapons to fight them off.

There were a lot of casualties and this wasn't good for us.

"Your royal highness, they're you much to fight off," one of the warriors barged into the throne room, panting while blood flowed from his right arm.

"We need to go and ask for help from the supreme pack," mark, Brian's brother and beta suggested.

"No that would be good long and the supreme Alpha might not even send us help so why waste time," Elder Maurice said and I nodded in agreement

Just two week in this pack and a lot has happened.

Jackson was an inconsiderate and heartless bastard and monster. It wouldn't take anything from him to send those weapons before now but he still haven't.

After everything I did for him as his mate and Luna, he cast me aside for that slut Daisy

I didn't mind him sleeping with every Luna but signing a contract and exchanging one with me was thoughtfulness and so painful

I still haven't gotten over the pain and I didn't want to be hers but now I was here, I had to help them in any way possible because I clearly wasn't ready to die.

"What's the Luna doing here?" At that moment, all eyes moved to me. "She isn't supposed to be here with us. This is dangerous for her,"

Benson finally turned to me, his angry and cold eyes fixed on me. "I thought I told you go be with the other women and children from the pack. This is dangerous for you and you aren't supposed to be here,"

"But I want to help," I suggested and he exhaled deeply then turned to his beta and brother

"Please excourt her to the safe room," he instructed and mark nodded in understanding then gestured that I follow him big I hesitated.

"But I want...."

"You're not the Luna of this pack so stop trying to act like one. In six months you won't be here so don't try anything that would risk your life because I can't explain to the supreme Alpha that I couldn't protect his mate so please just cooperate"

His words was like a knife to my heart. I just wanted to help because they needed help but maybe I over stepped my boundaries.

I turned and walked behind mark but I instinctively turned my head to the door and saw one of the rogues dragging a little boy.

His mom cried for help but she was also dragged by another rogue. It was clearly a kidnap attempt.

"Hey...stop," I stormed out of the door, ignoring the danger around me and rushed to the rogues.

"Cynthia," I heard mark urgent voice behind me but I didn't turn or even spare him a glance.

I rushed to the rogue, punched him in the face and picked up the little boy who was crying profusely and shaking in my hands.

I turned to see Mark's gaze fixed on something or someone behind me and I hurried in my steps.

I didn't see the person coming from my side until I fell hard on the ground with the little boy, a sharp stinging pain in my knee and even before I could react, a bullet bruised past my arm

"Ouch," I cried out slightly, but I ignored the pain and carried the little boy again, rushing to the pack house with racing heart.

Alpha Benson rushed to us and carried the little boy from my hands, handing him over to his mom who thanked us for helping and continued crying non stop while clutching her son to her chest.

I didn't have the chance to watch the reunion moment because alpha Benson grabbed my hand and walked out of the throne room

I followed him, trying to keep up with his pace. We entered my bedroom and he finally turned around, glaring daggers at me

"Why did you do that? You could have been shot? Or even killed? Do you know what that's would mean for me? For my position?" he uttered harshly, his sharp gaze glaring at me.

"I just wanted to help the boy. He was clearly in trouble. They were going to take him," I replied, glaring back at him

All he would have done is thanked me and not scold me.

I felt a sharp sting and I hissed in pain, the sting suddenly reminding me of the shot bruise I got.

"Why wasn't the bleeding stopping," Brian asked, his gaze fixed on my arm while he gently stared at it

"I don't know but it hurts as hell," I confessed and he instantly went to grab the first aid and pushed me to sit gently on my bed.

He brought out the cotton wool and gently helped wiped the blood but his hand caressed my arm unintentionally and I felt chills

Then I froze. The same chills I felt the first time I discovered Jackson was my mate.

Pain shot through my entire arm, jolting me back to reality and I closed my eyes, biting my lips.

"You're not healing and I think you were shot with a wolfbane bullet," my eyes went wide as my heart raced in fear.

I turned my gaze abruptly to Benson whose gaze was already fixed on me.

His eyes were a mix of confusion and shock. I didn't know his eyes were this beautiful and I was slowly drawn to those blue enchanting eyes.

Why did I just think his eyes were enchanting?

I blinked then sighed deeply, my gaze fixed on my arm which clearly didn't stop bleeding

"Mate," I froze instantly, Brian's deep, cold and sharp growl, reaching my ears.
