Chapter 3

Leona’s POV

“Not you” He said when I turned to leave. This man that is supposedly my husband is so cruel.

“Leona, come visit me later. We need to carry out some test” The nice doctor said. He leaned in, whispering in my ear.

“If he gets too insufferable just come meet me. Or call. My number is in your phone.” He said before he left.

“Like hell you will”

Damon shouted at his back.

The doctor giving the middle finger before disappearing.

I entered the room fully.

“Did I hurt you”

He just scoffed.

Looking down at my stomach. His eyes looking like disgust.

I put my hand on my belly instinctively, protecting it.

“Hurt me?” He laughed. Threw his head back and gave a full belly laugh. Laughing hard as if what I just said was the best joke I have said.

“What’s there to hurt?” His eyes turned cold all of a sudden. Looking at me a like I was dirt beneath his shoe.

“You could never hurt me baby, you don't deserve to hurt me”

Okay I definitely did something.

“Oh, okay”

I said. Not knowing how to reply to that.

“But I would say. You did leave. Running into another man’s arm like you always said you would, you never hurt me. You did embarrass me though. And that I would never forgive.”

What the hell. I did that?

I searched for something in my memory but I found nothing. But I knew it wasnt like that. I could feel it in my bones. I would never do that.

He looked at me for a beat longer. Before turning back to the files on his desk.

“I never did that” I said to him in a whisper

“Yeah?” He scoffed “Well do you have proof? Oh I forgot. You can't even remember your proof.” His tone mocking as he looked at me with a chill in his eyes that was enough to shrink me up.

“No, I don't. But I know there is more” I just knew it.

“If you have nothing to back your claim, leave me. I am busy” He dismissed me. Making my chest squeeze tight in my chest.

Tears stung my eyes but I forced it back. I can't let him know he hurt me.

“I came here to ask if I could change my room. The stairs are too much. And my legs are not that strong yet.” He looked at me, his eyes going down my body to focus on my trembling legs. My hands were clutching something to hold my weight.

He looked on coldly, the frost freezing the room, that I held my breath.

“You managed to come here fine” He opened a file and signed on a paper.

“Yeah but…”

“Don't disturb me” he looked up “Maria!” He shouted, immediately, the maid from before entered. Her head hung low, her arms joined together in front of her, in submission.

“Take her to her room” He said, returning back to his work.

“Let's go ma’am” Maria said, holding my arm ready to take me out. But I didn't budge.

“And never come here again, I never want to see you in my sight ever again” He said it so coldly as if I was dirt beneath his shoe.

“Why?” I asked. Tears finally sprung to my eyes. Unleashing themselves.

He stiffened but didn't look up. Ignoring me completely

“Why are you cold to me? Aren't you my husband. Shouldn't you be caring and loving to me. I just woke up from a coma in a accident, woke up to a ring on my finger and a baby growing in me. I can't remember a single thing and you are not making it easier. And I just got to know you”

I screamed at him. Hysterical that he was treating me this way and it's not even been a day yet.

His grip on his pen tightened. His jaw clenched hard as he opened his mouth to say something but he decided against it after seeing my face.

“Get her out Maria”

This time I didn't fight it. I let Maria lead me out. Disappointed I couldn't get an answer out of him.

After a long stairs climb. Kudos to Maria for being so patient, I know she was getting impatient with the way I kept resting every five steps. But she held it in.

When we finally got in my room. Maria helped me on the bed. I sat on the bed, looking around the room.

It was a beautiful room. The room having the monotone look I loved so much. The grey walls and the black bedsheets. Smelling delightful.

The room barely has anything only the pictures on the wall to make it look like it was owned by someone.

It was a picture of the two of us on what looks like our wedding day. I was in a black wedding dress, my face was set in a beautiful smile while Damon's smile was directed towards me. Both our eyes were mischievous as we posed for the camera.

We must have been so happy to get married. We look absolutely beautiful. Then what happened. Did we have a fallout. Marriages fall out all the time. Maybe that was what happened to us.

I don't even know why I was in a black wedding dress. But it felt like something I would do.

The world spun, voices filling my head, my head banged as if it was being hit.

Slap

“You disgust me”

“You better do well to not disappoint me as you always do”

“This is all you are good for”

“You should have just died”

“You are nothing but a weak human”

“Damon is not who you should trust, he is a bloodsucker”

*End

I gasped hard. Voices voices voices. Those were three different voices and none of them belonged to Damon.

What was that. I laid on the bed. My head still banging. Who were all those people.

Did they have any connections to my past. It is obviously something from my memory.

And why is Damon not someone I could trust.

My hands were trembling, from fear. Fear of who?

Who knows. I reached around for my phone to search for something.

Wait my phone. I had a phone. I will ask Damon later.

How was I supposed to do that though? He made it clear that he doesn't want me in his sight ever.

I don't know what I did? But it hurts, he was supposed to be my husband. My number one support but he dismisses me like I was nothing.

But why do I feel like I deserve it, when I knew I did nothing wrong.
