My Fiancée Chose To Have A Child With Her Male Best Friend Novel Cover

My Fiancée Chose To Have A Child With Her Male Best Friend

After my fiancée helped her male best friend have a child through artificial insemination, I left behind the divorce papers and walked away. Before I left, I commented under their group photo on her social media: "Make sure you sign the divorce papers. Wishing you all a happy family." A minute later, she called me, "Can you stop being unreasonable? He doesn't like women, so what's wrong with me helping him have a child?" I laughed coldly and said, "That's why I'm getting out of the way, so you can find someone who won't be unreasonable." But she started to panic.

Chapter 5

After taking Mr. Li to the hospital, Mengyao Li wore a stern expression and was about to leave when Mrs. Li called out to her, "Where are you going?"

Mengyao, her face cold and impatient, replied, "I need to go over to Xuan. He's waiting for me, and I have to take care of him."

Watching Mengyao, I felt she was becoming more and more unfamiliar to me.

Seeing the hurt in Mrs. Li's eyes, Mengyao grew even more impatient. "Why are you staring at me like that? Don't you have a good son, Lu Tao? I'm not comfortable leaving Xuan alone, and anyway, Dad gets annoyed with me. I might upset him even more if I stay."

With that, Mengyao turned and walked away, ignoring Mrs. Li's calls to her.

Mrs. Li held her chest in emotional pain, clearly upset by Mengyao's behavior.

I quickly poured her a glass of water.

Mrs. Li looked at me with a guilty expression, "It's better this way, it's better this way... You deserve someone who truly appreciates you."

Listening to Mrs. Li's words left me feeling lost.

From childhood to now, I had always revolved around Mengyao, blind to other girls. To me, Mengyao was the best woman in the world.

She was beautiful, self-assured, and passionate.

I never imagined I would love anyone else, as my world only had Mengyao in it.

I think I probably won't fall for anyone else.

Loving someone is exhausting, and it's too much of a compromise.

After confirming Mr. Li was alright, Mrs. Li urged me to go home and rest. Although I wanted to stay in the hospital with them, Mrs. Li insisted I leave, saying they couldn't face me right now because of what happened.

I had no choice but to leave.

Just as I was about to exit the hospital, I spotted Mengyao and Zhang Xuan.

I quickly hid, not wanting to face them or see Mengyao's indifferent gaze and Zhang Xuan's smug demeanor.

Not far away, Mengyao was carefully supporting Zhang Xuan. Seeing her so cautious made my heart ache.

Mengyao had never treated me like that. Even when I had a high fever, she remained calm and indifferent, sitting by my side.

I always thought she was spoiled and sheltered and didn't know how to care for others.

Witnessing this scene, I could no longer deceive myself.

It wasn't that Mengyao was spoiled and sheltered and didn't know how to care for others; it was that she didn't love me, so she didn't want to care for me at all.

His Unwanted Wife, The Unbeatable Lawyer Novel Cover

I even sat at tables with Russian killers and calmly translated the order to execute a man who betrayed our Family. My value was my composure and my loyalty. The moment an internal memo praised Jared for his 'heroism' during the Mayland Warehouse Massacre, I knew our marriage was over. Because I was the one he'd left to die. The memo was a masterpiece of fiction, claiming he made a split-second decision to protect the Family's "most valuable asset." That asset wasn't me, his wife, who was calmly negotiating with cartel members for our lives. It was Bianca, his fragile mistress, who was crying on the phone in a sector he was ordered to stay out of. When I packed my bags and left, he had the audacity to call me hysterical. "You're my wife," he scoffed. "Was I your wife at Mayland, Jared?" I asked. "Did you think of your wife for even a second while you were running to save your weak little woman?" He was a coward who had ignored a direct order from a Don, and the Family was calling him a hero for it. But I had the proof: a thirty-second recording of his profound dishonor. I wasn't just seeking an annulment. I was petitioning the Commission, and I was going to use that recording to burn his world to the ground.
Million Dollar Hush Money: I Want Divorce Novel Cover

The silence in Sterling Manor wasn't empty; it was heavy, pressing against my eardrums like deep water. I sat on the edge of the oversized velvet sofa, waiting for my husband to return from a "merger closing" that I knew was actually a hotel room. At 2:00 AM, a notification glowed on his forgotten work tablet: "You left your tie on my nightstand. I'll keep it safe for next time. - S." When Ethan finally walked in, he didn't look at me. He just smelled like Serena's signature sandalwood perfume and expensive scotch. He didn't apologize for the infidelity; instead, he transferred a million dollars into my spousal account and told me to go buy some jewelry to keep my mouth shut. I realized then that I wasn't a wife; I was an expensive placeholder. I left my ten-carat diamond ring on the foyer table and walked out into the freezing rain with nothing but a canvas duffel bag. But Ethan wasn't about to let his "ornament" escape so easily. He froze my credit cards, revoked my trust access, and used his billion-dollar influence to blacklist me from every architecture firm in New York City. He even tracked me down to a restaurant where I was playing piano for tips, throwing a stack of hundreds at me in front of his mistress. When I still refused to crawl back to the manor, he played his final, cruelest card. He leaned in and whispered that if I didn't return to his bed, he would stop protecting my brother from a prison sentence he had manufactured himself. I stood there shivering, realizing that every "favor" he'd ever done for my family was actually a shackle. He thought he could buy my soul, my talent, and my silence by holding the people I loved hostage. How could the man I once loved turn into a monster who viewed my life as nothing more than a line item on a balance sheet? I looked him straight in the eye, my voice as cold as the winter air outside. "Make the call, Ethan. Send him to jail. I'd rather visit my brother through plexiglass than spend another night sleeping next to you." I'm done being a victim. I've just walked into the offices of Azure Architects, the only firm in the city Ethan can't bully. I'm not just going to finish my degree; I'm going to help his biggest rival burn his empire to the ground.
