Chapter 5

ESMELRALDA P.O.V

I gave my husband a big hug as soon as I opened the door.

It feels so nice to see him after five days.

" I missed you so much, damien. Why the hell didn't you pick up my calls? You know I was so worried for you. I know you were busy, but you should have at least texted me to tell me how you were doing."

"So that's why you will keep me standing at the door? I am so tired, baby. Lets go inside first, and then we can talk."

"Oh, I'm sorry, my love. I didn't mean that. Please forgive my manners and come inside."

Getting inside the house, Damien made his way to the bedroom as I helped him with his suit case.

He made himself comfortable in the bed.

I could see him smiling at me as I made him his hot coffee.

" Here, my love." I said to him as I handed him a cup of his favorite coffee.

"Thank you." he appreciated as he collected it from me.

"So madam, now tell me, what were you saying?" he questioned as he kept the mug and pulled me towards him and made me sit on his lap.

I laid my head on his chest.

"Leave it. You are finally home; that's what matters... I would rather not irritate you with my complaints..."

" so tell me, how was your meeting? Did all go well?" I questioned as I looked at him.

"Yeah, kind of... but I missed you so much... it wasn't easy for me. I went days without seeing you. I have decided that anywhere I am going to next time I will take you along with my other stuff . At least like this, I won't have to stay away from my wife."

I giggled after hearing his decision.

That's so sweet.

I wasn't the only one who was missing someone.

" awwn, my baby loves me so much... I know you missed me; that's why I have prepared your favorite food. We will have our dinner date tonight, and then we will talk the whole night... What do you think about it?"

"Hmm... nice idea, but I have a better plan. Why don't we both do something constructive tonight? (He winks at me.) What do you have to say about it?"

He started laughing when he saw my red face.

One thing was sure , he loved to tease me.

His phone suddenly rang .

He looked at the screen, which was showing, CEO Watson.

I guess they are business partners.

He lazily pulled me upon him and received his call.

I started playing with his shirt button and shook my head disappointingly when I heard their discussion, which was enough for me to know that even tonight my husband is going out to some party.

After he was done with the call, he gave me an apologetic smile.

"Sorry baby... but this party is important... as Mr. Watson is our new business associate and I seriously can't afford to disappoint him. Today is his wife's birthday... I know you must have invested your day for this night... but-"

I interrupted him and didn't let him finish.

"It's okay, dear... why are you apologizing to me... I know it must be important... You can go; we will have this dinner date some other time." I said while faking a smile.

"But who said that I am going alone?" damien asked.

"i don't understand"

"you my dear wife, you and I are both going to this party. Mr. Watson specially asked to bring my wife so that he can meet the woman who has cast a magical spell on Damien Cole. Now get ready, and yeah, wear that dress that I bought for you today.

"Okay, my love," I saluted while smiling.
