Chapter 2

EVELYN

"I... I didn't mean to, sweetheart. It was an oversight. I slipped..." Rafe grabbed his trousers, rushing out of the room to meet me. He grabbed my hand as I was about stepping out of his living room to the entrance.

My shameless aunt has left the apartment barely covering herself up. She even left her shoes.

"Don't you dare call me that," I yanked my hand off his. Taking note of the spot...infact I was going to spend hours in my shower tonight, washing off every single touch of his. "Today is our anniversary, Rafe. You totally ruined it."

"Eve, I'm sorry."

"You slipped and fell right into my aunt's cunt. Why are you a pathetic liar!" I yelled, tears coming back again. "Never knew plastic boobs and ass were your favourite. Perhaps, it's the pussy. Tell me, Rafe..." I hit his bare chest with both my hands. "Is her pussy tighter than mine?"

"We can..."

"We cannot do anything anymore, Rafe. We're over. I'm calling off the wedding."

"That's impossible, Eve. What happens to our pre wedding photoshoot by tomorrow? I've already paid for it."

This man wasn't even remorseful.

I shook my head laughing. "You can take my aunt, Rafe. She's my perfect replacement. Ahh, yes, she's even divorced. You two would make a great couple."

"Damn it! I fucked Matilda for you, for your wedding dress!" He blurted out, as he shoved his hands into his hair frantically.

I wanted to faint after hearing what he just said.

"You're unbelievable." I whispered, staring at him in horror.

"How did you expect me to pay for a five thousand dollar wedding gown? I don't even get half of that as my salary."

"So, are you also trying to say you basically fucked the florist, the baker, the interior and decoration stylist?" Goodness Lord, I have to see my gynaecologist first thing tomorrow morning. This man must have given me an STD

"Please, let's settle this, Eve. I love you."

"Eww!" I twisted my face in disgust. "I'm not sorry to say this, Rafe," I looked at him dead in the eye. "You are a bastard." I took off the ring he had proposed to me with and threw it at him. Perhaps, he must have fucked the jeweller for it as well.

Unlike my aunt, I took everything I came to his house with, including the wine.

I did not have the heart to go back to my apartment. I may do something stupid to myself. The best place was Ava's house.

She opened her door on the first door bell ring.

"Eve, you are..."

I went into her arms, shaking uncontrollably as my sobs grew louder.

"Damn! What happened?" She led me to her sofa.

"It's... It's Rafe."

"Is he dead?"

"It would have been better, Ava." I sobered up now, wiping my face with my face towel.

"Ouch," she rubbed my back in circles. "He called off the wedding?"

"I did. I found him inside my aunt's pussy."

Ava looked at me wide eyed. "What did you just say?"

"You heard me right. My ex fiancé was fucking my aunt, Matilda, balls deep, on his bed."

"Shit!"

"It was his form of payment, his words." I hissed.

"I won't let this slide, Eve. Give me a minute."

One thing I knew about Ava was the fact she was unpredictable. Wondered what she was going to do next. She was back in less than a minute.

Guess what she came back with.

My best friend who I had known since we were toddlers had a sword in her right hand and a gun in her left. I knew about the sword. Her late father got it as a gift for his exceptional role as Chun Li's uncle in... I can't remember the name of the film.

"Eve, this right here, from my late dad," she raised the sword up, "is for Rafe's castration and decapitation of his ass. Then this, from my late step dad," she shook the gun, "is for your aunt after we burst her fake boobs with the surgical pins I borrowed from my mom's recent boyfriend."

"Ava, I..." I didn't know when I started laughing, a bone cracking laughter actually.

"I'm serious, Eve. Who are we paying a visit first?"

I was still laughing and crying at the same time. Another thing about Ava, she was effortlessly funny without even knowing it.

"I love you so much, Ava Brown."

"I love you too." She dropped her weapons of warfare and came to sit with me. "I'm really sorry, Eve."

"It's okay. I'm glad I found out about this before walking down the aisle with him."

"You'd find someone better, trust me. Some men don't deserve pussy, especially broke ones." She grabbed the wine. "This was supposed to be for him, right?"

I nodded.

"Let's toast with it. Another minute, we need glasses." Ava stood up again, leaving for the kitchen.

My phone rang at that moment.

"Baby, where are you?" My mom's soft voice sounded when I put the call through. It seemed like she was aware of what had occured.

"At Ava's, Mom."

"Matilda told me everything. Send me Ava's address, I'd be there in an hour."

*****************

(A month later)

"Honey, are you sure about this?"

"A hundred percent, mom. This vacation is what I need this moment." I zipped up my bag.

My life since I broke up with Rafe became almost useless.

I probably don't know the lies Rafe must have told the publishing house where he worked, where I took my books to that made them suddenly cut ties with me.

I mean, I had just started my writing career as a romance author. My first two books didn't quite make huge sales, but at least, it paid my bills and fed me. Now, I've lost everything. I could not even find the zeal to write.

Why didn't I take Ava's advice on dividing his body into parts? Ahh!

"Mom, don't get worked up. It's only going to last for four months. Morever I'd be staying with Ava."

"Take care of yourself, please. You're the only one I've got." My mom hugged me tightly.

"You too, mom. I love you."

"Love you, baby. Don't forget to call me once you get to Ireland. It's a seven hour flight. I would be expecting your call by three, latest."

"Sure mom." My flight with Ava was leaving at exactly seven thirty am this morning.

******************

(Two thirty pm; Galway, Ireland)

"Hello Ladies." A young man with short, blond hair walked up to Ava and I to carry our bags. He was tall and slightly lean. His eyes were covered with shades.

"Hey Blake." Ava pecked him on the lips. "It's been a while."

Who is Blake and how come I'm just knowing about him now? I asked myself.

"Welcome to Ireland. Hey Evelyn."

"Hello." I smiled briefly at him.

As we walked to his car, Blake in front with our bags, I pulled Ava to my side.

"Who is he?" I whispered.

"Sean's friend and my sex buddy." She licked her lips, her eyes on Blake.

I was stunned with her last description.

"I'm not about to spend four months here without my vagina been touched."

"You're crazy, Ava." I said with a low chuckle.

"What about you? I can hook you up with someone if yours has healed up."

"No, thank you." I shook my head, giggling. I was glad Rafe didn't give me an STD. I gotta be cautious of the next dick I'd be sleeping with.

We got to Blake's house if I'm not mistaken and the person who opened the door was Ava's brother, Sean.

Oh no. Not Sean, again. He cannot be living here.

My phone vibrated. It was three pm. Shit! I have to text my mom asap.

"What's up, Sean?" Ava greeted her elder brother, pecking both his cheeks.

"Hey Sis."

I was still typing on my phone when Sean touched my hand. "Hey Eve."

The look on his face anytime his eyes were on me hasn't changed at all.

Okay, so, Sean and I have this somewhat complicated relationship. It was more on his part though. I've known him and Ava since childhood. I liked him only as a friend, but it was never same on his part.

"Hello Sean. How are you?" I smiled at him trying to keep it cool.

"I'm good. It's been eight years and your beauty hasn't faded a bit." He flashed a smile, his dimples showing faintly.

Shit! No!

"Dead it, Sean! She's taken." Ava came to my rescue.

"Alright guys! I'd be back by seven pm. We're hitting the club tonight." Blake said.

"Woohoo!" Ava cheered.

Damn, not when I was about catching some sleep.

Anyways if this was my first step to clearing my head, I'm surely going for it.

The ballroom erupted in whispers of a secret pregnancy, but Fulton’s reaction wasn't concern—it was cold, predatory calculation. He immediately forced me into a clinical "inspection" to ensure his "merchandise" was sound, then destroyed my only chance at escape by framing my friend in a scandal and blacklisting my credit.
