Chapter 4

I consider putting on yoga clothes and going to the gym, but then I see my bills. Shit. I should get my payment from Dreams LLC.

I change and call a taxi. The driver seems confused when I tell him where I'm headed. I put my earbuds in and play music on my phone to shut out the world.

The taxi arrives to a huge, white structure 15 minutes later. Without the location, I wouldn't realize this is one of the city's major phone sex firms. Not what I expected. I keep my earbuds in while listening to music. I hand the driver money and grin. I exit the taxi and turn toward the building.

It's like a bowling ball hitting my back. When I'm hit in the back, my arms are stuck behind me,

Hot breath on my neck "Quiet! Stop talking!" He's covering my lips to muffle my cries, so I bite down hard. My only alternative and inclination. When I feel his fingers between my teeth, he strikes me on the head to silence me. When I see the man's face, I'm astonished.

"Kevin?"

"Quiet! Shush! You want to embarrass me on Facebook and ignore my calls for a week? I'll show you!"

His eyes show fury and a bruised ego. His strength amazes me. I assumed he was weak since he never worked out, but he's stronger than I thought. Really startling. He hugs me without uttering a word. I attempt to pull his hands off with mine, but it doesn't work. I'm out of breath and whimper, "Stop!"

He pauses just as my world goes dark. What? I blink and see another guy between us. Tall, robust, and broad-shouldered. I watch as he punches Kevin, shattering his nose.

"If I see you around here again, I'll murder you," he yells, grabbing Kevin by the shirt collar. When he lets him, Kevin turns and goes, without looking back.

"Are you okay?"

I feel like I know him when he stares down at me. I'm emotionally shaken but otherwise OK. "Most people wouldn't help, but you saved my life. "

I glance into the man's eyes and remember the taxi trip from the club.

"Wait. You're familiar,You stole my taxi outside the club last night."

"I don't usually steal taxis."

"Thanks, but I'm leaving."

"Wait. I'd want to take you-"

"I'm sure you're great, but I'm not in the mood to host a dinner. My ex-boyfriend attempted to kill me."

"He's gone. He's insignificant. Yes!"

I look at him-his perfect-weather eyes, big shoulders, and sweet smile-and even though I'm battered and frantic, I say yes.

Paul's pov

Bartender brings my gym bag to the cloakroom.

"I have a young woman meeting me outside the Club," and he nods and checks.

I invited her a gym. Swimming pool, gym, shooting range, and art museum. You might say it's a wonderful spot to take a date. Especially an exclusive fucking club she wouldn't typically get into.

"Your lady acquaintance is waiting in the lobby, Mr. Paul," the maître says. I'm rushed. I want to see her. She's wearing a black dress that's not revealing. She's wearing tights and heels. Her hair and cosmetics make her attractive.

Her lovely physique makes my cock quiver. How her skinny legs support her. I want to suck them till she squeals. Those hips. Asshole. The garment hugs her voluptuous ass, and I want to pinch each cheek.

Damn. Her wraparound strapless dress shows off her tits like nothing I've ever seen.

"It's like you've forgotten what I look like nude," she adds as she approaches me. I kiss her cheek when she hesitates. Her perfume smells. Intoxicating.

"It's like meeting you,"

She teases me, "Flattery won't help."

"Vodka? " I ask, guiding her inside the bar I just left.

The inside stuns Arcadia. That's how the other half lives.

Every face looks at us. Women are hungry and their husbands are envious. Damn.

I ask Arcadia but don't actually ask since I sit her down.

Arcadia says, "It's wonderful here"

"she grins. "Don't misunderstand. I adore that we're on a date."

"Fuck," she murmurs, eyeing me. "I assumed we'd get straight to it, and here was a fancy hotel, so you wouldn't have to walk far."

"I'm a block away."

Arcadia sighs. "Oh, OK," she says.

"You think I can't date?"

She smirks, "You took my taxi."

"Waiting to see how you'll fuck me," she adds as our filthy martinis arrive. He glances at her after hearing our conversation. Arcadia grins and twirls her hair.

She asks what I do.

I pour. "Steal cabs from strip club ladies so I can rescue them from ex-boyfriends"

We raise our glasses and she grins.

I said, "Don't mention it." "I walked by."

She stares into my eyes and tells me, "I hope you realize it doesn't entitle you to sleep with me."

"I don't believe it qualifies me to anything," I tell her. She's undoubtedly wondering where I'm headed. "But I know you're still thinking whether I'd fuck you."

Arcadia wouldn't be startled if I brandished my 12-inch cock about.

"Really? " Wide-eyed, she asks.

Arcadia drinks her cocktail and leans near me.

"What's else?" She asks, smiling slightly. "You appear to know more than me.

"If my place is just a block away, how can I ask you to come up?" I say, without breaking her contact.

She asks, "So you can fuck me?"

I tell her, "So cum till you pass out."

"Really?" She asks, eyebrows raised.

She stops. "Didn't you just offer me the chance to go to your apartment?" Arcadia grins. "Can't I take it that you brought it up?"

This was fuckeasy, I thought as I call the waiter. She's smarter than most women. She may be entertaining

"Are you taking my chance?" She laughs. "Going to your apartment?"

I said, "I'll show you around. I'm prepared. Remember, I'm in charge?"

Then she takes two steps forward.

Reborn Heiress: My Ruthless Tycoon’s Revenge Novel Cover

I lay on the wet asphalt, the cold rain mixing with the metallic taste of blood pooling in my mouth. My lungs were heavy, filling with fluid as my life ebbed away. Through swollen eyelids, I saw my lover, Clovis, and my stepsister, Alanna, standing over me with looks of pure triumph. "Thanks for the trust fund, sister," Alanna whispered, shoving a phone screen in front of my dying eyes. The headline was a jagged blade to my soul: Caesar Williamson, the "tyrant" husband I had fled from, was dead in a multi-car collision. He had died trying to rescue me, thinking I was in danger. The realization shattered what was left of my heart. The man I had spent years painting as a monster had driven into hell to save me, while the man I thought was my safety was the one who had just crushed my ribs with an iron bar. I had played right into their hands, ruining my reputation and my marriage for a lie. I watched them walk away, leaving me to choke on my own blood in the dark, discarded like a bag of trash. I wanted to scream, to beg the universe for a rewind button, to tell Caesar I was sorry. The darkness pressed down on me, heavier than the betrayal, as my world finally went black. Then, I was screaming. I shot up in bed, gasping for air like a drowning woman breaking the surface. I scrambled at my abdomen—smooth skin, no blood, no tear. I grabbed my phone and saw the date: it was three years ago, the morning of my wedding to the Williamson estate. I didn't waste a second. I scrubbed the "unstable" makeup from my face, threw on a white silk dress, and blocked the man who would eventually kill me. This time, I wasn't running away from the manor. I was going back to the husband I had once feared, ready to save the only man who had ever truly loved me.
