Chapter 7

Chapter 7: The Line Crossed

The location Luca chose was deliberately antagonistic-an old, abandoned shipping warehouse on the Brooklyn waterfront. It was Vitale territory, but remote enough that the only witnesses would be the rats and the sound of the tide against the docks.

Ethan arrived twenty minutes late, his gut twisted with a mix of guilt and adrenaline. He drove his own car, leaving his work phone and GPS tracker locked away miles from the site. Every instinct he had ever relied on told him to turn back. This was the moment his career ended, the moment he destroyed the last of his integrity for the target.

Luca was already waiting inside. The only light came from a single high window that cast a pale stripe across the dusty concrete floor. He wasn't wearing a suit this time. Dark jeans and a cashmere sweater replaced his usual armour, casual and self-assured.

"You're late," Luca said, his voice echoing through the vast space. It wasn't an accusation, just a statement, spoken with the quiet dominance of someone who already knew he had won.

"I had to bury my life to get here," Ethan replied, his tone rough. He stopped twenty feet away, unwilling to step closer. "This is madness, Luca. If anyone sees us, if anyone finds out, it's over for both of us."

Luca tilted his head slightly, his face half hidden in the shadows. "Then let it be over, Ethan. Your job has been your life, and my name has been my prison. We are both tired of pretending. Stop being the Agent. I am not the Target tonight."

"You are always the target," Ethan shot back, holding on to the only truth he could trust. "You run a criminal empire. I uphold the law. There is no middle ground. There is no person between the job."

"Liar," Luca murmured, his voice lowering to something soft and dangerous. He began to walk toward Ethan, each step deliberate, measured. "You called me back. You came here. You let my touch unbalance you in that sterile room, and you haven't stopped thinking about it since. You are terrified of the part of you that wants to understand me, because that part doesn't fit inside your badge."

Ethan stood his ground, though his resolve trembled beneath the weight of the moment. He watched Luca close the distance, his movements calm, his confidence absolute.

"I came here to tell you to end this," Ethan whispered, his breath uneven as Luca stopped just inches away. The proximity felt suffocating. "I came to warn you. I know about your sister. I know your weakness. And I will use it if you don't stop this game."

Luca didn't flinch. His dark eyes held Ethan's, steady and unreadable.

"You won't touch her," Luca said quietly. "Because if you touch her, you destroy the only clean thing I have left. And if I destroy your career, you destroy the only clean thing you have left."

He lifted his hand slowly, with a kind of reverence. Instead of pulling away, Ethan froze. Luca didn't touch his lapel this time. His fingers traced the sharp line of Ethan's jaw, his thumb brushing the pulse that betrayed him.

"We are two mirrors, Ethan," Luca whispered, his fingers brushing the knot of Ethan's tie. "We are bound by the law that keeps us apart and the compulsion that pulls us together."

He leaned closer, his mouth near Ethan's ear, his voice a low invitation. "Show me your truth, Agent. Show me what happens when you finally stop pretending to be clean."

It was the final crack in Ethan's control. Every line he had drawn between duty and desire was shattered in an instant. He no longer wanted to argue. He wanted to silence the man who had seen too much.

With a sharp, frustrated sound, Ethan grabbed the front of Luca's sweater and pulled him forward into a collision of mouths.

It wasn't gentle. It was a violent surrender, an act of betrayal against everything they both had built their lives on. Ethan tasted danger, sin, and the intoxicating burn of forbidden power. Luca met him with equal force, his hands gripping Ethan's waist, pulling him in until the cold precision of the Agent and the reckless defiance of the Target were one.

When they finally broke apart, both were breathing hard, the silence of the warehouse heavy with what they had just done.

Luca's gaze locked with Ethan's, his voice low and unsteady. "You came here to punish me," he said. "But we're only punishing ourselves."

He took Ethan's hand and pulled him deeper into the shadows, away from the faint light spilling across the floor, away from the world that demanded they pretend.

"This is your undoing, Ethan," Luca murmured, his words a promise and a threat. "And you will enjoy every second of it."

The faint light of the fluorescents outside made Luca's eyes glimmer in a thousand shades of blue and he leaned down closer to Ethan, Luca's breath playing over Ethan's face, his lips almost touching Ethan.

"What the fuck do you think I'm doing? Luca purred, and Ethan felt the soft skin of Luca's lips move against his as he uttered the words.

The touch was light as a feather but caused an almost painful wave of desire in Ethan that he couldn't stop. Luca leaned back a little, his fingers tracing Ethan's lips.

"Want more?"

Ethan stared at him, wanting to say yes but he knew he should say no. He opened his mouth, about to tell him to leave him alone when Luca trailed his other hand on his semi-hard cock.

"F- fuck... Yes."

Luca smirked and leaned in again for another kiss, it was hungry, aggressive. Their tongues wrestled for dominance, but Lucas got the upper hand. The pleasure was too much for Ethan, as Luca began to grind against him.

Ethan had never felt anything like that. Lucas grabbed Ethan's belt and loosened it, moving on to the buttons in his jeans. A Sudden jolt of self-doubt washed over Ethan.

" What the hell am I doing? Ethan asked himself, and he broke the kiss and looked at Luca.

"Wait....." He panted.

Luca met his gaze and stopped unbuttoning his jeans. Rubbing slow circles on Ethan's cock.

"Yes?

"- I-I don't know..... I haven't done anything like this before.... I mean never with a man."

Luca smiled, pressing harder on Ethan's Crotch, sending another wave of pleasure crashing through Ethan.

" I know. Just enjoy the ride, don't worry we are not going all the way tonight. I am a patient man."

Luca's blue eyes boring through Ethan, he dragged his fingers for his Crotch upwards to his nipple and flicked it. Ethan whispered, closing his eyes at the Sensation.
