Chapter 9

He came to her at dawn. No guards. No command. Just Dominic - in black slacks and a half-unbuttoned shirt, his chest rising like something hunted, not in control for once, but chasing. He was chasing the object of his desire.

Siena was already awake. She had been wondering if she had me misjudged the effect her actions would have on him. She was determined though, not to be just a toy to him. She was a human. Even if she continued to be his submissive, she wanted to earn his respect and a little bit of affection from him. She didn't want him to continue to be as cold as he had been towards her, even during their sex games.

She'd been staring at the window, letting the pale light spill over her naked back like a benediction. The silk sheets barely clung to her hips.

She didn't look at him when he entered. She didn't have to.

She felt him. And she shut her eyes. She always felt it when he entered the room - any room she was in.

That dark gravity. That heat that filled a room before his body even crossed the threshold.

He shut the door behind him, the click soft but final.

She spoke first. "Couldn't handle not being in charge?"

"No." His voice was low, torn at the edges. "Couldn't handle not touching you."

She turned then - slowly - letting the sheet fall away as she stood. Her body was a poem written in soft shadows and unspoken defiance.

"I thought I was a toy," she whispered. "A possession."

"You're not", he conceded.

She stepped closer. "You bound me."

"You freed me." she continued with each step.

Her eyes burned. "You broke me."

"I'm the one who's broken now", he said.

There was silence.

Then he reached out. Not to grab. Not to force.

Just fingers, trembling slightly, brushing her cheek.

"Siena..." His voice cracked on her name like a prayer. "I've kissed a hundred mouths. Owned more bodies than I can count. But I've never..." He swallowed. "Never kissed someone I wanted to keep."

Her breath caught.

His hands cupped her face - reverently, not possessively.

No ropes. No cuffs. No commands.

Just him.

And when his lips finally met hers - it wasn't domination. It was ruin.

The kiss was slow, deep, and burning.

It wasn't about power.

It was about need.

About longing held back too long.

His mouth moved against hers like he was afraid she'd vanish. Her fingers tangled in his hair, nails digging slightly into his scalp as she moaned into him.

He groaned - low and desperate - and pressed her back against the wall.

But still, he didn't force it.

His hands slid down her arms, memorizing, not claiming.

She wrapped her leg around his waist, grinding into the hardness straining his slacks.

Their bodies fit like puzzle pieces cut by flame.

Still clothed, still not inside her - but so much more intimate than any of their past games.

She whispered between kisses, "Are you going to fuck me or worship me?"

His eyes darkened. "Both."

But even as he pressed her harder to the wall, even as his teeth scraped her bottom lip - he didn't rush.

This wasn't about punishment. This wasn't about control.

This was him surrendering.

For the first time, Dominic Volkov gave her his mouth without reserve.

And Siena... kissed him back like she was devouring a god.

**********

She was breathless, pinned between the cold wall and Dominic's warmth.

His lips dragged down her neck, each kiss like a brand. His body coiled against hers with restraint she knew couldn't last. His hands trembled where they gripped her thighs.

And still, he didn't fuck her.

Not yet.

She could feel the tension in him like a stretched wire, vibrating with everything he hadn't said.

Her voice was hoarse. "Dominic..."

He pulled back, just far enough to look into her face. There was something in his eyes she had never seen before.

It was not cruelty. It was not control.

Something close to wonder.

And then-

BANG.

The door flew open.

"Dominic!" Roman's voice was sharp, urgent.

Siena flinched. Dominic spun, shielding her with his body, teeth bared.

Roman stopped in the doorway, wide-eyed. "Shit. Sorry. I didn't know-"

"What the fuck do you want?" Dominic snarled.

Roman's face hardened. "It's Isaac. He breached the code vault. He knows about the girl."

The girl.

Siena's stomach dropped.

Her.

Dominic's arms tightened, then loosened. He was already moving.

The spell shattered.

She pressed back against the wall as he grabbed his shirt and stalked past Roman. "Tell Nico to lock down the estate. No one leaves. No one breathes without my order."

"What about her?" Roman asked.

Dominic stopped. Turned.

Their eyes met - his and Siena's.

For a second, he looked torn.

Then the wall came back up. That cold, unreadable mask.

"She doesn't move. She doesn't speak to anyone. And if Isaac tries to touch her..." His voice dropped. "Kill him."

Then he was gone.

And Siena was alone.

The silence after his departure was deafening.

She stood there - half-naked, skin burning from his touch, lips swollen from his kiss... and completely, utterly hollow.

Had any of it been real? she thought, hurt more than she cared to admit. Or just another game?

She slid to the floor, wrapping her arms around her knees as her heartbeat slowed to something like regret.

That had been their first real kiss. She could not help imagining how it would have been if they had not been interrupted. She didn't doubt that it could have brought them closer together. Not just physically but emotionally and mentally.
