Chapter 6

Rose immediately walked towards Bertha. Laura pretended to stop him but couldn't. Then, Rose arrogantly raised her face and cleared her throat.

"Hey."

Venn turned his head, that handsome face momentarily made Rose stunned.

Does City X have a man as handsome as her brother?

In an instant, Rose's jealousy and anger towards Bertha became even greater.

“Who are you?” Venn coldly glanced at her.

Bertha smiled, whispering in his ear. "She is my ex-sister-in-law, the most arrogant and stubborn person in the Tibble family."

Hearing Bertha's words, Venn's expression became even colder.

Although Bertha spoke softly, Rose heard it very clearly, the intimate action between the two of them stimulated her nerves even more.

Because Venn was in front of her, Rose retracted the fierceness on her face, she showed an admonishing look, and her voice deliberately became sharp.

“Don't let this woman deceive you, she was already married. Furthermore, she comes from a lowly background, has a cruel heart, she previously had an ambiguous relationship with my father, she..."

The slap cut off Rose's words.

The whole banquet room suddenly became quiet.

Rose cupped one of her cheeks and looked at Bertha. She couldn't believe it and her eyes widened.

“You dare hit me?”

Bertha's delicate eyes looked at Rose contemptuously.

When she was in the Tibble family, she tried to please them even to the point of lowering her self-worth. Now, she is divorced, and she has nothing to do with them.

Bertha wiped her hands. Then he threw Rose a look of contempt.

"Yes. I hit you because your mouth was so vile."

Bertha rubbed her palm, a sarcastic smile curled her lips. “It seems like the Tibble family is not good at raising children, raising a daughter who only knows how to talk nonsense.”

"Is there a rule that if you're married, you can't attend the party? Isn't your brother also married? What you said just now is slander and insult me, I can sue you."

"You..."

Rose is always pampered. So, she had never heard such words before and was slapped in front of everyone. She immediately blushed in embarrassment and was about to raise her hand to slap Bertha.

But Venn quickly held her hand and squeezed Rose's hand, causing the person to cry in pain.

Derek sat quietly next to him, his eyes gradually darkening. He had never noticed Bertha's determination and boldness before.

Rose initially wanted to threaten and provoke Bertha, but in the end, she slapped her. She was completely stunned by the result. She then stared at Bertha in disbelief. She couldn't understand what this wild country girl was capable of, daring to slap her.

Derek frowned, his dark eyes glancing at Rose. “How long do you want to cause trouble? Please apologize."

Rose immediately became as defensive as a furry cat when she heard what Derek said. She groaned. "Older brother. She hit me, why did you..."

Derek's face turned completely black, warning her. "Shut up. I have eyes, I know who is wrong and who is right. I repeat, please apologize to her."

Rose was always afraid of her brother, but she was very angry. She wanted to argue, but Laura hugged her shoulder and whispered. "Rose, your brother is really angry. He only wants the best for you. Anyway, you can't let Bertha sue you. We are wise people, don't let small things affect big things."

Under Laura's comfort, Rose's emotions stabilized, and she spoke in a voice as small as a mosquito. "Sorry."

Then, with an embarrassed face, she ran away.

Laura gave Derek a look to reassure him, then she immediately chased after him.

A joke that seems to have been resolved.

Although everyone was curious because of Rose's words just now, they knew clearly that whether it was Venn or Derek, they were not easy to deal with.

Therefore, the entire banquet room restored its original atmosphere, no one dared to discuss what happened just now.

Bertha glanced at Derek, her smile gradually fading. She decided to forgive Rose.

Venn looked in the direction Rose left, frowning and asking his sister. “You want to ignore her? Do you need me to find someone to teach her a lesson and help you vent your anger?”

Bertha laughed, gently pushing his shoulder. "Do not need. I wasn't angry at all, moreover, I had already slapped her. Looks like I won."

Venn. “…”

He suddenly felt that his little princess was very brave.

Derek was not focused when greeting the guests. From beginning to end, his eyes looked towards Bertha. Seeing her talking and laughing happily with Venn, he suddenly felt unhappy.

He also didn't know why he was unhappy, perhaps because this was the first time he felt like he was being played with by a woman.

Ten minutes later, Laura led Rose back to the banquet room.

It seemed that Rose had reapplied her makeup, hiding the traces of the slap on her left cheek.

She silently followed Laura, standing behind Derek, extremely obedient.

It's just that occasionally she would glance at Bertha with evil eyes, who was shining in the crowd. Rose is the young lady of the Tibble family. Everyone always treated her politely, but Bertha dared to take action against her. She had never been this embarrassed in her entire life.

The party entered the middle, started dancing, and everyone swayed to the music.

Laura was also very excited, she looked at Derek expectantly, waiting for him to take her arm and invite her to dance.

Derek stood up.

The excitement in Laura's eyes became even more intense, she seemed to have seen the scene of her becoming the focus on the dance floor.

But a second later.

Derek picked up a glass of red wine and walked towards another table.

Bertha listened to the melodious music on the dance floor while enjoying the chocolate mousse cake on the table.

Suddenly, a large man's hand entered her sight.

“Girl, I wonder if I could have the honor of asking you for a dance?”

She raised her head, looked at his hand, and then looked up at Derek's cold and serious face that had not changed for thousands of years. Suddenly she no longer had any appetite.

While four eyes looked at each other.

Derek's heart suddenly skipped a beat.

This was the first time he seriously observed Bertha's face at such a close distance. He discovered that every part of her face was perfect, and her white skin made her even more attractive. she became beautiful.
