Chapter 1

Cynthia POV

"Luna," I heard Kate, my right hand maid say behind me, her voice soft yet seeking attention. I turned to her, my gaze fixed on the shower gel in her hand. "It's time for your night bath"

It's finally that time of the month. The time to try again.

The time I was ovulating and the perfect time advised by the doctor to meet with my mate.

The time to meet with my husband and make offsprings.

This has become more of a cultural duty than something deprived from pleasure.

The elders expectations from me to bare a child for Jackson has pushed me to forgetting what it felt like to have s*x and enjoy oneself while having it.

I just bath to smell good, feel good for my alpha and lay on his bed like a wood while he pounds inside me without mercy and without emotions.

My marriage with Jackson was never like this.

These days, I go around the pack hearing whispers about how the alpha left the pack the previous night to sleep with another alpha's mate.

How the supreme Luna is infertile

How the supreme Luna can't keep her mate and build a home for the alpha

How the supreme alpha can't even bear pups.

The only way out of this is having a child for him and securing your position as luna

That what mom always said, not until she left me a year ago and made me an orphan.

A supreme Luna and orphan who has become the mockery and gossip of the dynasty she rules.

"Have you informed Greg to inform the alpha about_"

"Yes Luna," she cut in, replying politely

I sighed deeply, taking off my robe and letting it fall with a soft thud on the floor.

Staring at the bath tub, I couldn't help the memories of previous night I've had my bath in this same bath tub just so I could perform the same duty with the alpha

And what comes after that?

The same result everytime.

We are sorry Luna but you're still not pregnant.

Now staring at the water again reminded me of the fear at the back of my mind.

What's the probability I would get pregnant?

Would I finally get pregnant after this?

Just like what mom would always say,

A Luna's strong hold on the pack and the alpha is bearing a child and not just any child, a male child

I haven't even had a miscarriage, talkmore of a male child

"Luna," Kate called out again and I shifted my gaze to her

Her brown eyes holding so much pity yet a small smile plastered on her lips

"I believe you will get pregnant soon. We just have to keep trying" she said, a genuine yet sad smile dancing on her lips

I gave a small smile, chuckling at her words at the back of my mind.

Raising one leg, I dipped it into the warm, rose scented water and carefully landed it softly on the tub before raising the other leg and dipping it in.

"Bring the fertility towel," kate words reached my ears, her tone authoritative and sharp

Yet I couldn't help the chuckle that escapes my lips.

Fertility towel was trash, nothing but a superstition that this pack has held for years.

A towel I would use to wrap around my body after having a bath so it brings me good luck before meeting with my mate.

"Forget about it," I ordered sharply yet softly

"But Luna, it's a culture that_"

"I don't care and I don't want it here" I ordered sternly, cutting her short.

She nodded in understanding then gestured with her right hand that the maid take the towel back.

In the past three years of my marriage with Jackson, I never thought I would be this unhappy and exhausted.

Days like these make me regret being the supreme Luna.

So many exhausting expectations.

"It's time to wash your hair Luna," hearing Kate's voice was a constant reminder of what exactly I was doing in this bath tub.

This night was going to be a long one.

Waiting twenty minutes for Jackson wasn't new but waiting twenty five minutes was new and it hasn't happened before.

He comes early and seldom comes late, but twenty five minutes late?

Did he forget about our fertility meeting today?

Rising to my feet after minutes of waiting on his bed, I stepped out and met olive guarding the door

He was the guard in charge of guarding the alpha's room

"Where is the alpha?" I asked softly

"He is on a call your majesty," he responded and I frowned

"A call for twenty five minutes on a day like this?" I asked and he remained mute. I walked past him, heading to Jackson's study with a deep frown on my face. "Where is he?" I asked and he still didn't respond.

Which was a normal thing around here.

Jackson has strictly instructed the guards that move with him always never to tell me about his whereabouts and over the past few years, I've grown to getting used to it.

He could have had this call during the day.

Now wasn't the time for call. Now was the time to make babies and I needed him to cooperate.

There was this constant fear in my mind that I had a lot to lose more than him and I needed to have a child as soon as possible.

"Where is he?" I asked again, this time my tone sharp and laced with a mix of anger and authority.

"Luna please it's not in my place to tell you about_"

"Where is he?" I asked again, cutting him short.

"In his study," he responded softly yet in hesitation

Walking past him, I instantly proceeded to taking the stairs that led to his study.

The door was partly opened with two guards stationed just outside his study.

The instant I approached them, they moved closer to each other, blocking my path

"Move," I ordered sternly and they both exchanged glances, talking with their eyes before moving sideways to let me through.

I walked inside the study but I wished I didn't.

There Jackson was, his hand dipped into his pants clearly caressing his rod while speaking with someone over the phone.

I froze.

My heart stopped beating for minutes.

I couldn't blinked.

Tears gathered in my eyes as a feeling of disgust and pain washed over me.

He didn't notice my presence because he was so engrossed in his act.

Shifting my gaze to his hand which he had on his phone, I could see the lady he was speaking with.

Luna Daisy Musk, mate to alpha Benson of Red blood pack

She was the beauty goddess of redblood pack and I've been hearing rumors about she having an affair with Jackson but I didn't believe it because I just thought to myself

No man would allow his mate to have an affair with another man.

I believe alpha Benson loved his mate so much to willingly let her have something to do with the supreme alpha.

But what I forgot was that Jackson wasn't just any man, he was the supreme alpha and he had so much power to make anyone do his bidding.

Even forcing alpha Benson to let him sleep with his wife.

"Tell me again how much you missed me.... Daisy"
