Chapter 2

Benson POV

"Tell me again how much you missed me.... Daisy"

I froze at the doorway the moment those words reached my ears.

That voice.

I knew it, too well to mistake it.

I'd say through countless meetings with him, heard him give speeches, orders, promises.

I could recognize that voice in my sleep.

Fury surged through me, curling my fingers into a fist at my side, while the other hand gripped the glass cup so tightly I feared it would shatter under the pressure.

Alpha Lord Jackson was my superior and he was the alpha Lord of this dynasty.

I was just a regular alpha overseeing one of the packs under him but never did I ever think that he would be calling my mate too

Who the hell did he think he was?

Being the supreme alpha didn't give him the audacity to sleep with every packs alpha's mate he meet.

The rumors were everywhere. How the supreme alpha couldn't keep his d*ck in his pants.

He was always after every skirt but never did I expect he would be after my mate too.

"I told you before Jackson. Do I have to say it again?" She asked, her voice soft yet sultry

"Yes please," he responded and I felt disgusted in my guts.

"I missed you," she said, giggling and avoiding his gaze from the screen

Daisy doesn't usually blush like this with me. She is usually shy and quiet.

She seemed like a completely different person with alpha Lord Jackson.

Daisy asked for water and I decided to get her a glass as a loving alpha that I am but hearing her conversation with alpha Lord Jackson, my heart sank.

We've been together for two years and she was my mate. I've loved her and tried to make her happy.

Yet, she was slowly falling into the alpha' Lord trap.

My fist clenched so tightly around the glass cup that it cracked and a part of it fell hard to the ground

That startled Daisy who was engrossed in her call with the supreme alpha.

She turned swiftly to the door and her gaze landed on me, her eyes flashing with shock and disbelief.

"Sweet,...how long...are you alright?" She stammered, walking closer to me while properly adjusting her robe over her shoulder.

Her gaze fixed on the wound in my palm, she carefully placed her hand under mine, staring at the wound with a guilty look on her face

"Who were you talking to?" I asked like I didn't know the answer already, my voice cold and deep.

She flinched then blinked rapidly before giving a reply.

"It was no one,"she replied and a heart wrenching pain engulfed my heart.

Was Daisy lying to me?

She has always been sweet and caring and soft spoken and honest but now, she was lying on my face.

"Sweet...are...are you lying to_"

"No sweet. I'm not. I was talking to no one" she said defensively.

It wasn't her firm voice that shocked but her words.

Daisy was never a liar. She was the envy of the entire dynasty. Alphas envied me for having a perfect wife like her.

Beautiful in and out.

But now, from what just happened, I was convinced that Daisy wasn't the woman I knew anymore

The woman I mated with, married and made a Luna wasn't a liar but the woman standing in front of me was and I was speechless

"So you speak directly with the Alpha Lord now?" I asked and she finally fixed her gaze on me and there was something about her gaxe.

The love, softeness, affection were gone.

They were all gone and those beautiful black eyes reflected nothing but anger and emptiness.

"Who doesn't?" She replied harshly

I was stunned and I froze. I've never heard Daisy speak fo me in such manner before.

"So you cheat on me now? You're one of those whore who the Alpha Lord stick his d*ck into right?" i asked, my voice echoing down the hallway and into the stairs

She rolled her eyes and just walked out on me, ignoring my question.

"Sweet, I'm not done talking,"

"Oh please Benson, you're yelling and I want to sleep" she uttered rudely, glaring daggers at me before turning her back to me and walking straight to her room.

"Did you just call me by my first_" I couldn't complete my words because she banged the door at my face and locked it from inside.

Daisy has changed and I saw the signs but I ignored.

We usually kiss before I leave for work but these days, she subtly turns her face and says she is tired.

Most times, I caught her engrossed in her phone, texting and giggling during the night.

Two months ago, Daisy talked about having a room for herself and complained about how she didn't want to share a room with me.

And maybe agreeing to that and making her happy was a bad decision because she just banged the door at me.

I should have suspected something was wrong the moment she asked for a room. I should have known something was wrong with her awkward behaviors

Daisy never yelled. She never talked harshly. She wasn't dishonest but now, she had become someone I barely knew.

The cases of divorce has been rising in the dynasty more frequently amongst alpha's and Luna's and I didn't want to be next.

I didn't want to be the next alpha who lost his mate to the Alpha Lord.

But alpha Lord Jackson was still a threat and I had no idea how to get him away from my mate before he destroyed my marriage.

Sighing deeply, I raised my knuckles to the door and after thinking deeply for some seconds.

I wasn't wrong so why did I feel wrong and why did I feel like apologizing?

She was clearly cheating on me?

Was she?

My mind questioned and I exhaled deeply again.

I was confused, heart broken, surprised and extremely exhausted.

I've always been the one to tell people about how indisciplined their mates were and so uncontrollable for them to fall for the Alpha Lord's charm.

Yet here my mate was, falling already for him.

"This wasn't the plan at all" I muttered under my breath, the weight of exhaustion and hurt pressing down on me.

SEVEN DAYS LATER

Staring at the tenth text message I sent to Daisy, I exhaled deeply as I saw the blue tick

An indication she read but didn't reply.

I didn't see her this morning when I woke up and I didn't get the chance to speak with her because the Alpha Lord called for me.

"He's coming Alpha," Greg, a trusted and built yet short guard in the supreme royal pack house informed me, his voice deep yet polite

I nodded, staring again at my phone and hoping silently that Daisy would reply my message but she didn't.

She wasn't typing back.

She wasn't calling. Nothing was going on. She was just reading and ignoring.

"Alpha Benson," Jackson voice drifted my thought and I raised my gaze and fixed it in him

"Alpha lord," I called softly, memories of last night flooding my head. I rose to my feet and bowed slightly, giving him his respect

"im glad you could come see me. I thought you wouldn't make it" he said, grinning from ear to ear like he wasn't a man whore.

I wonder how the supreme Luna felt knowing her husband was f*cking around.

He should have used that energy to f*ck his wife and get her pregnant. I clenched my jaw, trying to control the anger threatening to burst from my veins.

"I came as soon as you called and with all due respect, what's this meeting for?" I asked politely, trying to cut to the chase.

His smile made my fist clenched by my side. I yearned to punch that smile of his face and disfigure that face that is trying to take my mate away from me and distract her from our marriage.

His entire presence made my wolf growl in anger and I wanted to let it out.

But what could would that do?

I was just an average wolf whose size wasn't as half of that as the Alpha Lord?

Could I really win in a fight with him?

Alphas like me could challenge for rank, but none dared to. Not against a man like Lord Jackson.

That was a signed and stamped death wish.

"Let's not waste time, Alpha Benson," Jackson said casually, like we were old friends catching up.

"Daisy has been glowing lately," he said, his smile widening on his lips "and....let's make this easier, Benson," he paused, his eyes locked on mine. "I want your wife. And in return...you can have mine."
