Chapter 3

Benson's POV

"You can't...be serious," I stuttered, the previous look of anger in my face disappearing and being replaced by shock

"I am, alpha Benson. I'm dead serious,"

There was a moment of silence between us and he sank deeper into his chair, leaning on it while fixing his gaze on me

This had to be a joke right? He can't be possibly serious.

But he just said he was. No he can't be. I denied instantly.

"I know how this sounds. I know it's sounds insane and absurd" he uttered with a soft tone and something turned a switch inside me

"F*cking hell yes it is. It's ridiculous and stupid," I responded harshly, forgetting for a second that I was speaking with the supreme Alpha.

Alpha Lord Jackson chuckled then exhaled sharply, glaring at me with a mischievous smirk plastered on his face.

"You seemed to have forgotten your place alpha Benson" I swallowed a lump, realization hitting me hard.

I bowed slightly, my gaze fixed on the marbled tiled floor

"I'm sorry alpha Lord," I apologized with a soft tone, a frown on my face and my heart racing with so much yearn to forget a punch on his face

"I have an offer for you and I think you would like it," he said, grabbing an envelope from his drawer and placing it on the table.

He didn't even acknowledge my apology and simply ignored it.

Same cold, arrogant and careless assho*e

"What's that?" I asked, staring at the brown envelope on his desk

"Take a look alpha," he urged and I stared at him with suspicious eyes then stretched my hand to the table and grabbed the envelope

Opening it, I dipped m hand in and brought out a white paper from the envelope and reading the title just right above the paper, my eyes widened

A mix of happiness and relieved washed over me.

Was this finally happening? I've been requesting for more weapons for the warriors on my pack.

We've been short on weapons that has been one of our major set backs.

Over the past few months, I've written countless requests messages to the supreme alpha but he never gave a reply.

Could this be his reply?

This would mean so much to the pack if this was true. The elders of Red Moon would be so relieved and excited about this.

"I've been receiving your request about seeking weapons from the supreme pack and I've decided to grant that request" he chipped in, his voice jolting me out of my thoughts.

"So you've finally decided to_"

"Yes I have," he cut me short, interrupting my speech "I want Red Moon pack to be safe and I want my people to feel safe. I know you urgently need these weapons because of the countless attacks Red Moon pack have been receiving" he explained and a broad and relieved smile appeared on my lips.

"This is good news alpha Lord Jackson. The elders would be happy about this and they_"

"Don't thank me yet Benson. I want us to arrive at an agreement first before you do that," he cut me again, his tone now serious and deep

I hope he isn't about to bargain this for Daisy?"

The instant that thought crossed my mind, I felt my heart sinking. He wouldn't do that right? He isn't that heartless.

"Take as many weapons you need and you give me Daisy. You would sign a contract which states that Daisy would live with me as my wife for six months and you would have my wife and as many weapons as you need"

This is crazy. He is crazy.

"This is ridiculous," I uttered harshly, the happiness in me disappearing in thin air.

"It isn't. It's just two alpha arriving at a mutual understanding" he said softly

"Mutual understanding? Is that what you call it? You're possibly saying we should swap wives like we are swapping properties." I gritted my teeth in anger, glaring daggers at him while my hand clenched the white paper on my hand in anger.

"You get my point and I like that," he uttered, an evil smirk plastered on his face.

"Is this a joke to you?" I asked, my voice now sharp. "I need this weapons to protect the pack, the same pack that's under your rule and you want me to sign an agreement before I get them?" I said, my jaws clenching.

"Just sign and take as many as you need alpha Benson. This shouldn't be that hard" he uttered casually.

"You are clearly telling me to give up my mate to be with you and take arms that are freely supposed to be given to red moon pack and you sit there saying it's not hard? Are you out of your f*cking mind?" My sharp voice echoed in the room that the door burst open with Greg storming in

"Greg, kindly escourt alpha Benson out of the palace and make sure the next time be comes to see me, he would have signed the contract," Jackson ordered while Greg's eyes moved swiftly to the paper in my hand before shifting his gaze to my face.

I leaned forward, maintaining eye contact with the bastard "I'm never signing this so forget about it" I dumped the paper on the desk and walked out.

"Never say never," I heard Daniel say behind me while laughing out loudly like a maniac.

Barging into the house, I saw maids and warriors from the supreme Palace carrying familiar suitcase in their hands.

"Please be careful with that," I heard Daisy's soft voice from the hallway

What's going on?

"Sweet," I called out but she ignored me. "Sweet," I called out again and she turned sharply to me, resentment and anger dancing in her eyes

"Why didn't you sign the contract alpha Lord Jackson gave you?" She asked with a sharp tone, her gaze hard and empty

She knew about the contract? She knew about my meeting today?

I was dumbfounded. I just stared at her, a million thoughts running through my head at same time.

"The alpha Lord has ordered I come go the palace and I've decided to go,"

"Wait.... what!" I exclaimed, , finally finding words to say and stammering while staring at my mate in shock.

"I would be married to him for only six months according to the contact so I'd advise you better sign it quick for the sake of this pack"

"Daisy you're leaving me for Jackson?" It was more of a statement than a question.

She exhaled then gestured with her hands for the maids in the hallway to leave.

The hallway was soon empty with just the two of us alone.

"Maybe this is what we both need, Benson." Daisy whispered and I stared at me mate in disbelief.

Was this a dream? The Daisy I know would never agree to this? What had gone wrong on our marriage that my mate now wants to be with another man?

Maybe I was hearing thighs wrong. Maybe I was overthinking.

"Is this what you want?" I asked, my heart racing in pain as the realization that I was about to be one of those Alpha's who lost their wives to the alpha Lord.

"Yes Benson. This is what I want. Maybe a little adventure with someone else is what I crave for. The spark we feel for each other is no longer there and I think we should find other options"

My wolf howled in pain inside me as I heard her words. Daisy haven't allowed me touch her for eight months and I never knew why

But now I do.

She was clearly getting company from the alpha Lord.
