Chapter 4

ESMELRALDA Point of view

It's been three days since Damien left for his work.

I have tried calling him so many times, but his phone is either switched off or unreachable. Every so often his phone rings, but he doesn't answer it.

I sent him plenty of messages but got no reply from him.

I decided to call his personal assistant, Kevin.

I picked up my phone and dialed his personal assistant number.

Brrr brrrr.... The phone rings.

I hope he picks up his call too; if not, I will die of anxiety.

The ringing tone died. Aah... He didn't answer his call either.

I hope they are fine.

I dialed his number for the second time as I paced around in the sitting room.

And this time around he answered.

" Hi, Kevin, this is Esmeralda speaking, Damien's wife." I hurriedly introduced myself just in case he doesn't have my number because I have called him once or twice before, and that was during the early months of I and Damien's wedding.

I was always worried when damien doesn't come home on time, but later Damien had to tell me that his work can be sometimes strenuous, so I had to stop calling Kevin.

But right now, I can't hold myself back.

I need to know whether my husband is safe or not.

"Good morning, Mrs. Damien. I'm sorry I missed your call. I was in a meeting, and I just had to excuse myself to answer your call. How are you doing, ma?"

He said meeting; that means Damien is in a meeting. I thought.

"Hello ma'am, are you okay? You aren't saying anything. "Kevin spoke over the phone and brought me out of my thought.

"Yeah, I'm fine. I called to ask if my husband was alright. I haven't heard from him for a while now; that's why. "

"Oh, he was the one who told me to answer your call. That he knew you might be worried. He said he is sorry for not calling you. Actually, he has been very busy with the foreign clients, and he barely even has time to rest. He hasn't been with his phone because his phone is in the hotel room, and we are at the conference hall making sure we finalize the deal. If I tell you that he hasn't eaten breakfast, you won't believe me. Once we are done, ma, he is going to call you ma."

" Really? Please get him something to eat."

"Once we are done with this meeting, I will make sure he eats. The foreign clients here are very serious minded and we would rather not act like we aren't professionals."

"Okay, I understand. But health is important... "Im sorry, ma, but I have to go," Kevin said quickly and hung up.

Oh my poor baby, here I am getting worried, and he is over there hungry but still working.

Im an idiot. There, my baby is working so hard day and night, and here I am disturbing him by calling and messaging.

But what can I do with my stupid heart that only knows to beats for him.

That misses him so much. That yearns to hear his voice once.

Damien p.o.v

I was trying to sleep for a long time. But this light.. god.. I am already very much tired.

And now this stupid light is disturbing my sleep.

I dig my face more in my pillow, but it wasn't helping much.

And then I have only one option.

"Esmelralda..... Please close this window. I can't get enough sleep due to so much light. Esmelrada do it fast, baby.".

Not getting any response, and even the light was not helping. Frustrated, I woke up and started looking here and there to find any traces of my wife.

After a while, reality hit me, and I face palm myself.

How can she be here?

I think I am getting mad. Firstly, I came here all the way here just to keep myself away from her, and now I am calling for her.

Removing my blanket, I look at my condition, and then last night incident flashes in front of my eyes.

It was one of those passionate nights that I love to have with girls. But that b*tch left her nail marks on by neck and shoulder.

Even though I am always careful with these things but last night it was like even I was also not in my senses.

May be it was because today I have to go back to my wife.

Back to Esmeralda, who will jump on me like a monkey once I reach home.

Thinking of her only, I twist my face in irritation.

How can a person be so clingy?

If it was in her control, she may even follow me to the washroom.

Getting ready, I called my personal assistant to take details of Esmeralda and even told him to order a dress for her.

Yeah, I know I am being an asshole.

But what would I have done.

I know how she has called me countless times a day and will even irritate me with her stupid messages of baby, I love you.. I miss you.. And blah blah.

At some point I had to switch off my phone; yesterday I asked my personal assistant to handle her after he texted me that my wife called him.

*******time skip*****

Ting tong

After two minutes, my dumb wife opened the door, and as expected, she jumped on me. I hold the knob of the door in order to balance with this baby elephant in my arms. Faking a sweet smile, I hugged her and even pecked her lips.
