Chapter 1

EVELYN

"Ava, how do I look on this gown?" I asked my best friend who I was on a video call with.

My wedding would be coming up in the next three weeks, so I went for my gown fitting.

"It looks calm, naturally stunning just like you, Eve." Ava gave her comment, adjusting her glasses.

"Thank you." I turned around for her to see.

"Ouu, I love those tiny details at the back. How much did you get it for?"

"Five thousand, haven't paid for it though." I sighed as I reached for the zip at the back.

"Ahh, it's too pricey. Didn't you go to your aunt's store?"

"It's my aunt's store, Ava." I was out of the gown now, carefully folding it. My aunt, Matilda, had quite a big clothing store mainly for bridals. My mom advised it'd be better if her younger sister handled my wedding dress.

"No discount?"

"It was actually five thousand, twenty dollars." I did not want to laugh cause it sounded so damn funny.

"No way, Eve. That's rather... surprising."

"Anyways, she said I shouldn't bother with the payment. Rafe would take care of it."

"Of course, he has to. He's gonna be your husband soon. He has to start taking up responsibilities." Ava stated.

"I wanted to do this one for myself."

"Look for something else, darling."

My phone shook with a vibration sound. It was my alarm.

"What's that? Are you getting another call?"

"No, not really. It's my one year anniversary with Rafe. I have to rush his house before he gets back from work to make him a surprise dinner. Gotta grab a wine too."

"Aww, that's romantic," Ava gushed.

"Yeah." A faint blush crept to my cheeks. "I have to go now, Ava. I've got barely two hours to his closing time. Talk to you later."

On my way to my fiancé's house, my mind drifted to what it'd be like being Rafe's bride in three weeks. I mean it would be nothing short of a dream come true. He ticked all the boxes when it came to my definition of a perfect man.

Oh Rafe Orton, my lovely boyfriend. He worked with the publishing house where I take my books to. Yes, that was how we met. I was skeptical at first 'cause I'm not a fan of mixing business with pleasure, but he won me over. Boom! Nine months later he proposed, now in less than a month, we'd be doing this life together, forever...with kids.

I was supposed to stop by at florist's shop to check on the flowers for my wedding bouquet, however I cancelled the appointment. My man first. Today was more special.

"I'd be stopping here." I said to the cab man. "Here, take." I handed him a few notes. "Keep the change." I was in a very happy mood.

Grabbing my purse, jacket and wine bottle, I made way to the building where my fiancé lived in. The weather currently in Downtown, Toronto was cool. Today being Friday, September 15th should be the period for autumn, my best season.

And in relation to that, I intend on spending the weekend with him, naked in bed through out. Did I forget to mention that Rafe was an expert in love making...Gosh! Glad to have shoved my lingerie inside my purse. Tonight would be hot!

Right in front of Rafe's door, I took in a deep breath before sliding the key into the lock and twisted. The key turned in too easily, no form of resistance.

It seemed like Rafe was around.

My little surprise gone wrong. My heart fell.

Well, it doesn't matter. I'm still getting fucked tonight.

I opened the door and the first thing that caught my ears was the sound of music, a slow burning soundtrack.

Okay, that's new. My brows furrowed as I stepped into the lobby dropping my purse on the table.

The only time Rafe played this kind of song was when we were having sex. A faint thought of maybe he was wanking to one of my nude pictures I had sent to him made me so wet. I have to join him asap.

But I stopped when I entered his living room. There was a woman shoe beside the sofa.

Uh oh! Did I happen to leave my shoe here? I asked myself bending slightly to pick the black stiletto up. I had already dropped my jacket and wine on the sofa.

It wasn't mine. I was seeing size 42 when I'm barely keeping up with my 39.

A chill thrill ran through my body. No, it can't be... Rafe can't...

The stiletto in my hands, I walked to the direction of his bedroom. Now the music was louder mixed with the sound of a woman's throaty moans shouting his name.

My God! It should better be a nightmare I really need to wake up from. I shut my eyes but the woman's cries filled my ears.

It was real. It was happening.

I opened my eyes, tears filled in them. Their clothes and undergarments were on the floor, just by the door of the bedroom.

I brought my eyes slowly to the widely opened door to see Rafe's ass grinding as he thrust forcefully into the woman under him, her legs high up in the air, the other stiletto on one leg.

This was the man I was going to say I do to. The same man who is supposed to be the father of my unborn babies.

Jesus Christ! The tiny bits of my already broken heart shattered into tinier bits. Will I be able to survive this?

I thought about leaving quietly, then call of the wedding by tomorrow...

Hell, no! I can't end this peacefully. Rafe must have a taste for this unexplainable hurt I was feeling currently.

I looked at the shoe in my hand, that pointed heel especially, then targeted it at Rafe's butt cheeks, that particular line.

In one swift motion, I threw it and it struck hard right on the spot where I wanted it to hit.

"Fuck!" Rafe screamed, his hand going to his bum. Is that blood that I see? Oh yeah, serves him right. My earnest prayer right now was that he bleeds to death.

"Yess, baby, cum inside me!" The woman under him moaned loudly thinking Rafe was about to orgasm.

I felt disgusted just hearing this. He wasn't even wearing a condom.

"Sweetheart." He spun around at once.

The nerve of him to call me his sweetheart while he was fucking another... I glanced briefly at the owner of the pussy he was desperately pounding into.

"Evelyn, my God." She shrieked, trying to cover herself with the sheets.

"Aunt Matilda!"
