Chapter 8

The door clicked shut behind him.

Siena stood frozen in the empty living room, the echo of Lira's perfume still clinging to her skin like poison. Her heart thudded with fury and shame. Her pulse was a war drum. Her body was sore in all the ways Dominic had taught her - but tonight, she felt nothing like a submissive.

She felt discarded.

She stormed back into the bedroom, yanked off his shirt, and threw it across the room. Her bare body trembled, not with arousal - but rage.

He left her aching. He let that woman touch her. He walked away.

Siena went to the closet, pulled open the drawer with his toys - her collar, his ropes, the gag that made her whimper like a sinner in a confessional. She stared at them.

A part of her wanted to kneel. Another part wanted to burn.

"I'm not a fucking toy," she whispered.

Then louder, "I'm not a fucking toy!"

She threw the drawer to the floor.

Ropes, silk cuffs, and polished leather scattered like relics of her surrender. She stood over them, panting, furious. And something inside her snapped.

She walked into his office.

Past the guards. Past the warnings.

Dominic was at his desk, reading a file.

His eyes flicked up. Cool. In control.

Until he saw her - naked, furious, unashamed.

"Siena."

"I'm not yours if you can't even look at me after you've touched me."

He stood. "You need to calm-"

"Don't tell me to calm down. Not after what you did. You made me crave you. You twisted me into someone who begs for your hands - and then you leave me to rot while your ex marks her territory?"

His voice dropped. Dangerous. "She's not my-"

"Don't lie to me!" she shouted.

She crossed the room, slapped a hand down on his desk.

"I've obeyed you. I've surrendered. I let you do things to me that made me cry, moan, scream. And I liked it. I fucking loved it. But I won't be your understudy to some ghost you refuse to bury."

He moved around the desk slowly, predator calm.

"You think you can challenge me, Siena?"

She didn't flinch. "I already am."

He stepped so close she could smell the bourbon on his breath.

"You want to be punished?" he whispered.

"No," she hissed. "I want to be seen."

Something flickered in his eyes. Like pain. Like pride.

He reached for her jaw, but she slapped his hand away.

"Not like that," she whispered. "If you want me, then fight for me."

A long silence.

Then, low and dangerous: "Be careful what you ask for."

"I'm not afraid of you", she asserted.

He smiled like the devil himself. "You should be."

Then he turned... and walked away again. But this time, she didn't cry. This time, she smiled.

Because she'd gotten under his skin. And the next time he touched her? It wouldn't be a scene. It would be war.

*******""

Dominic had gone two days without summoning her.

Two days of silence.

Two days where his staff eyed her like she was radioactive - the girl who defied the master. The one who left the punishment room standing tall.

But Siena didn't cower. She trained. In the private gym, she pushed her body to its limit. Not for him - for herself.

In the library, she devoured books on control, bondage, even Dom/sub psychology. She wasn't some naïve girl lost in his world anymore.

She was learning it. She was preparing.

So when the summons finally came, when she was told he'd meet her at midnight in the Black Room - she didn't tremble. She smiled.

She wore nothing under the silk robe he left on her bed.

She walked barefoot, head high, heart steady, and entered the room where he'd broken her before.

Except this time - she wasn't the one on her knees.

Dominic stood by the wall, sleeves rolled, jaw locked. Shadows from the candlelight played on his face like war paint.

He didn't speak. He just watched her enter.

And she did something bold. Something reckless.

She walked to the center of the room... and dropped the robe.

Nude. Proud. Powerful.

"Close the door," she said.

He didn't move.

"I said, close it."

His brow arched - but he obeyed.

The door shut with a soft, ominous click.

"I'm not here to be your plaything tonight," she said. "You want to test my obedience. But what happens when I test your control?"

He stepped forward. "Siena..."

She held up a hand.

"No titles. No orders. Just us."

She picked up one of his ties - blood-red silk - and slowly wrapped it around her own wrist, binding it.

Then offered him the other end.

"Tonight... you follow me."

He looked at her like she'd lost her mind. But he took it.

And for the first time, Dominic Volkov let someone else lead.

She backed him toward the padded bench.

Sat him down.

Kissed his throat.

Soft.

Then bit.

"You made me ache," she whispered. "You denied me release. Now you'll feel what it's like."

She straddled him - but didn't let him touch.

Her hips hovered, torturously close.

She leaned forward, hands gripping the arms of the bench.

"Say it," she demanded.

His voice was hoarse. "Say what?"

"That you want me."

He said nothing.

So she rolled her hips, letting him feel the slick heat of her against his pants.

Still nothing.

She leaned in close, breath hot at his ear.

"Then you don't get me. Not tonight."

She climbed off. He caught her wrist.

"Siena," he warned.

But her eyes burned.

"I begged for you, Dominic. I wept for you. Now you can beg."

She turned and walked away - leaving him panting, hard, furious, and completely unfulfilled.

The master of control, undone by the girl he thought he owned. This was unbelievable. Damn!

As the door closed behind her, Dominic whispered to the silence:

"Fuck."
